Here's a small brief on the notable gaming news this month

  • Microsoft’s PS5 exclusive Ghostwire: Tokyo is delayed until 2022.

The game was first announced at E3 2019; followed by the first gameplay reveal in June 2020. Later, Microsoft acquired the game's parent company, ZeniMax (Hence the ironic title xD).

  • Valve announced its rumored handheld device, The SteamDeck.

It comes with an AMD APU containing a quad-core Zen 2 CPU with eight threads and eight compute units' worth of AMD RDNA 2 graphics, alongside 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM. It's available this December at $399 for the 64GB version, $529 for the 256GB version, $649 for the 512GB version. Additionally, it can also run Windows or any third-party software or OS.

  • Nintendo announced their next "variation" of Switch.

The official announcement of the Nintendo Switch OLED model was via Twitter on July 6th. It comes with a 7-Inch OLED screen and is priced at $349.99. Pre-orders are now open and the device will be available on October 8, 2021.

  • Fortnite's "Short Nite film festival" will be held on July 23rd.

The second round of animated short films will kick off on Friday, July 23rd at 2 PM ET. To celebrate, Epic is also releasing Gildedguy as a character skin in Fortnite.

  • Among Us gets an official Irish translation.

The project was headed by Úna-Minh Kavanagh, a fluent Irish speaker, writer, content creator, and Twitch streamer after her Twitter callout for an official version.

  • Netflix is expanding into Gaming.

The once OTT platform revealed at it initially plans to focus on mobile gaming. It also said, " Games will be included in members’ Netflix subscription at no additional cost similar to films and series".
