    Hi everyone!
I just want to recommend checking out this charity bundle on the web page fanatical from Safe in Our World.

I have played a couple of games that's in the bundle so though I'd sum them up a bit.
    • Nexomon Extinction: A monster collector game in the traditional top-down format with a very dark, but silly, sense of humor. I absolutely loved this game.
    • DC Justice League Cosmic Chaos: A fun, casual beat-em-up game with silly (kid friendly)humor and a pretty decent story with some cool twists.
    • Jumanji: Wild Adventure: A must play for any Jumanji fans. This game also has co-op but the levels can be really tricky. I am, on a lil break from it at the moment so I haven't finished this one.
    • My Little Pony: A Zephyr Heights Mystery: A must play for any My Little Pony fans. You play as the different main characters to pass obstacles, and helps residents while uncovering why magic is suddenly acting up in Zephyr Heights.
    • Paw Patrol Grand Prix: Basically Mario Kart but friendlier on the eyes and with the Paw Patrol characters (my favorite one is Sky, and if anyone asks, it's not because she has a fully pink outfit *cough*).
    • Koa and the Five Pirates of Mara: A very cute platformer, with a highscore list! I repeat, a highscore list. It's incredible. Lovely soundtrack. And a really tough competition for those liking speed runs.
    • Ankora: Lost Days: You play as Mûn, another character from the same universe as Koa mentioned above. This game is a puzzle "survival"(it's very easy, I survived!...mostly), a really good game to relax to.
    • Little Kitty, Big City: I forgot why, but youre suddently not at home and you want to go back. But there's angry dogs in the way, lost ducklings, shiny things, and... a magical portal(??). I'm also on a little break from this game. Pretty sure I got lost in the neighborhood.
So these are the games I have experience with. If anyone else want to recommend other games in the bundle, you can always leave a comment 🤗

    * Disclaimer I am an Outright Games Ambassador which I aspired to become for some time, since fun, silly and casual games have helped me through some not great times. But thats why my knowledge of their games is quite extensive.

@Telomina Oh my, that is a lot. Thank you for the summaries! Out of them all, I only played Little Kitty, Big City. The reason you the cat can't go home is that poor feline fell off the windowsill while napping in the sun, by the way 😉

Out of the others, Nexomon Extinction especially looks promising. How dark is the humour there exactly?

As for the rest, I usually opt for such games when the weather is gloomy in November when it is dark outside and all you want to do is cuddle in a wool blanket with a mug of cocoa and play something bright and uplifting and light (Stardew Valley is my go-to normally, but I am looking to branch out a bit 😅). I can stock up on games for then.

Though one may say that February is not the brightest of months either, but this time we got Medieval Bohemia 😉. I may not be playing it just yet waiting for all the DLCs to come out, but I got Citizen Sleeper 2 to keep me entertained while waiting for Spring to arrive 🌸

oooh, right! That was the intro, naps can be sneaky like that.

Hmm, how dark is a good question. Its not super dark, like doctor-humor. And it's not too often. But it is definitely "the side kick probably have experienced darker thoughts and might not be fully out of it"- level. Not sure how good a description that is, but I am lost for game comparisons.

Ah, wool blankets are nice. But at the moment I am quite drawn to the silly funny Sims blanket. Admittedly, I might have a blanket problem. I can count to 5 blankets in my line of sight at the moment. 😅

Started Valley is such a great uplifting game. I played it so much 2017-2019 I had issues coming back later (there was a lot of updates). What sort of games do you want to branch out more to? The similar harvest genre, it has gotten quite big in recent years. Stardew Valley being the game that brought me into that rabbit hole, haha.

There is a storm raging outside as I type, but I have English breakfast tea and games so will definitely be able to power through this month too. I think I might be entering another Sims 4 era.

I dont think I have heard of citizen sleeper 2. I will need to look that one up.

@Telomina one way to have a peaceful nap is to make an offering to Dlul before dozing off 😉

Hmm, maybe it is more that they are attempting to match the JRPG humour? It is often a bit like what you describe, sort of 🤔

Your account about blankets made me remember this bit from the Parks & Recreation sitcom:

Stardew Valley had a big content patch for version 1.6, now I am taking a pause because I want some of the mods to catch up (like the tractor mod). As for branching out, for that, I opt for shorter melancholic games with a story, like Tavern Talk or Spiritfarer, things like that. More recently I got a bit into deckbuilding games, too.

It was raining here but no storm. But back at my parents, we had a very big one this summer, and a lot of trees fell down. Curiously, while that was going on, I was doing pretty much what you were, luckily our house was not cut off from power back then. Though in my case, I prefer rooibos tea 🍵

Citizen Sleeper 2 is a visual novel-like RPG. It is a cyberpunk and takes place on a space station. If this looks like something you may want to try, you can start with the first game (get it for cheaper, too) to see how you feel, because part 2 is "more and better of the same thing":

About the humor, I believe it might be a bit darker than my most common jrpgs I've played.

Parks & Recreations was such a fun show, I didn't remember this part, but I can agree with them, that looks like a great apartment. Only thing missing is a big gaming desk.

There was a tractor mod? I had totally missed that. My main mods were for pretty hair and clothes. 😅

Shorter and melancholic, hmm, the recent games I really appreciated that might fit that are:
Leila (apparently full release is Q2 2025 but I already got to play it thanks to an indie showcase). It's a woman looking back on her life through narrative puzzle-solving levels.
Selfloss Has a bit more exploration to the game-play, but also deeper story with a hint of a slavic -inspiration for the world.
The Star Named Eos was a lovely game where you follow in a parent's footsteps, and it's a puzzle game as well.
Do let me know if you end up trying any of them. I would like to hear your thoughts on them. I finished two of them, but I have yet to complete Selfloss, think I might be stuck at a particularly tricky fish.

It's "funny" about trees falling down during storms, parents with houses (there's a funny millenial sketch about this generation and the parents) , is downplaying the need of needing trees cut down, until a big storm makes most of them fall, and then they go: "maybe we shouldn't let the trees have grown 6 meters tall". Rooibos teas are nice too. I like most teas I have tried. I also at the moment have about 15 different teas at home. But I can't have tea too often nowadays. Oh, and my artisan bubble-tea order just arrived. Now I'm all ready for today's cozy gaming session.

Oh, that game looks different indeed. And it's on gamepass I see. But I am not very fond of space-themes. Even if I fall for some games/shows that has the theme I tend to not gravitate toward it. But it makes me believe you might appreciate my earlier suggestions.

@Telomina Hmm, well, maybe not exactly "dark" but more quirky and "limit-pushing" maybe?

I miss sitcoms like that, long series focused around a specific premise. Parks & Recreations, Veep, The Office, Scrubs... Modern sitcoms do not really have that or, at least, none that I know, it is all compacted and serialised into mainstream plots. Like Mythic Quest is not a bad show, but its cast and continuity are a bit wonky...

Here is a tractor mod. Apparently, they fixed it up for version 1.6 already, too.

Thank you for the list! Selfloss was on my radar (partially because I like mythology and Slavic mythology in particular), but I was a bit wary of its lower Steam score. It is visually quite beautiful, though, but because it did not score that high, I put it lower on my list. It is good to know that you recommend it, I will bump it up.

The Star Named Eos I did not know about, art style is impressive, though. @CandelaSynth may be interested in that one. As for Leila, I liked the premise, but I'd rather wait for a full release, maybe they have some sort of DLC roadmap prepared for that, or there could be a first-day sale...

Ah, no, in our area it was not about the tree height, it was about the drainage system. The city let the ditches get clogged so the soil got more moist over time and it was easier for the trees to fall. In our area the trees are mostly pines, those usually need to be quite tall.

When it comes to tea, I like the most natural ones that you need to brew yourself. But I do not like the infusions or teabags.

As for the bubble tea, I only tried it a couple of times. Could never quite "get" tapioca, don't know how to enjoy it. Are you meant to suck those little peas through the straw? Or eat them after, and if so, with what, they gave you no spoon. All-rounds bizarre drinking experience for me, this 😅

Ah, well, space is an acquired taste. But I hear it is a good place to go to if you want to scream for a bit and don't want anyone to hear you 😅 I do not mind the sci-fi settings in particular. What it is about space that you do not like?

    Hi @Telomina !
Thanks for the recommendations : )
I like The Star Named Eos indeed, the art feels like being in an anime! 😁
But as @DoctorEldritch knows...I´m well immersed into Citizen Sleeper 2...I have been looking forward to going to bed and travel on my ship around the Belt
Highly recommended!! (if you like reading, of course, otherwise it´ll be boring!)
And talking about reading, have you played Citizen Sleeper @ZaidH ?

@DoctorEldritch let me just replay the intro and I'll get back to you on that one 🤭 My old favorite sitcom was "How I met your mother". I have rewatched that one a couple of times.

The tractor mod looks good, guess you don't have an excuse to put it off any longer, hehe. The 3,5h I have in Selfloss so far I have enjoyed. It's a nice calm, occassionally a bit more stressful game.

Oh, pine trees! (the worst kind of trees) . That's unfortunatel. Also I assume harder to fix oneself.

You do not like the infusion, nor teabags? So all of your guest come to you instead of a fancy tea-house then? I "only" have 3 of the tea-mix things that I put in a "strainer ball" that goes in the water, already in the mug (oh my, the horror this must be for you to read). One is jasmine tea with passion hints, another one is japanese Yuzu, and the third one I believe was just a mix for improved sleep. Oh, and I also have assam tea. The rest of my teas are both infusions and teabags.

Ah, so, I have always sucked them up (that's why they give you a huge straw), then I chew them. I guess one must think of bubble tea as a form of desert instead of tea sometimes. In today's one there was some pannacotta as well. And I really like this one because so far it has been the closest to the "pudding milk tea" I had in Beijing.

Oh, what I don't like about space would probably go far beyond the scopes of this forum. But let's just say it goes with thoughts of existence a bit too closely for my my taste these days.

@CandelaSynth you're welcome! That game was such a lovely experience. I might even had shed a tear or two.

@Telomina I tried "How I met your mother" but for some reason, I could not get really into it. I don't know what it was, just did not quite click with me. I am trying 30 Rock right now, so far it is passable, but not as good as the best of them, IMHO. But I am willing to give it the benefit of the doubt and hope that it will get better in later seasons. Plus you need to give allowance for age, it's 20 years old by now.

Ah well, what's stopping me most now is that Stardew Valley, masterpiece though it is, at some point becomes "more of the same thing". I prefer to have a more varied experience these days.

Pine trees were used there to stop sea dues from migrating, it was an agricultural project over a century ago: dunes near the sea were always moving because of the wind, and people tried to come up with a solution to stop that, and it was to plant a pine tree forest so that the root system would fix the dunes in place. It sort of worked as far as migrating dunes are concerned, but now we have other problems, case and point. Goes to show, that those crafty dunes will not be held prisoners unaccountably 😅

Ah, it may depend on the attitude, I mean, the British attitude to tea is almost a cult. And it rubs off on you 😉 Reminds me of George Mikes book.

I am willing to give Bubble Tea another try, it's just whenever I think of myself doing it, I can never be sure if I am doing it right or not. I never had an occasion and opportunity to drink it with friends, and I am not quite ready to steep to watching a YouTube video "how to drink Bubble Tea" level of desperation yet 😅

As for oriental drinks, I miss the milk tea I had in Myanmar. It was so good. I order special deliveries from there now to get it, but it is still not quite right...

Ah well, space I do not like or dislike space strongly either way, so it is interesting to see someone with stronger opinions on the subject of universal vastness 😉

I haven't heard of 30 rock. But now I am curious why you didn't like "how I met your mother". Did you try it when it was new, or later? Because watching it in later days there are some things that are more troublesome then funny I find.

Ah, so a more varied game. A varied game, in the same genre? Because I might perhaps have a suggestion then. But the art style is... different.

Oh, it was one of those projects. They have some of those here in southern Sweden too. Then, and recently started with more of it, even in the city. I didn't read too much on it, but I do believe it was some form of "future proof" for floodings.

Ah yes, one of my community members is from UK and very regular in his tea drinking. But I also learnt there is no point in asking "what tea flavor?", it's always black tea. Oh the last paragraph sounded definitely on point.

Ah, the youtube tutorial desperation level. My recent one was how to clean my modern mouse, with holes. But I think I concluded that a screw it stuck and I need to get a new one now. And definitely a new one, because moving my laptop mouse only has 4000dpi and when one has 2 big screen that simply isn't enough.

Oh, a special Myanmar milktea? What did it taste like? Once at a culture festival in Beijing I had rose milk, and that tasted amazing. But I haven't been able to find anything similar again.

Ah, it's the unfortunate nature of having watched Armageddon way too young.
