You can choose from any category: games, anime, movies, or even comics.

I would choose The Joker 🃏
because he’s not just an ordinary villain
he represents true evil the kind that’s scary because it could exist inside anyone.
he’s a philosophical and deep character who represents chaos and madness in a clever, terrifying way.

I would go with Joker as well... The Ledger version though. Iconic...

    Johan Liebert from Monster (Anime/Manga)

    Why Johan?

    1. Pure Psychological Terror:
Johan isn’t superpowered. He doesn’t shoot lasers, wear a cape, or even commit most of the atrocities directly. He manipulates others into doing horrible things with chilling precision. The terror lies in how real he feels — like a person who could exist in our world.
    2. Incredible Intelligence:
Johan is always several steps ahead, orchestrating events with calm, quiet manipulation. He doesn’t just outsmart people — he breaks them psychologically.
    3. Ambiguous Backstory:
His origins are disturbing, tragic, and cryptic. You’re left questioning if he was born evil or shaped by circumstance — and that moral gray area makes him even more fascinating.
    4. Themes of Nihilism & Identity:
Johan isn’t just “evil for evil’s sake.” His actions are a dark reflection on identity, the value of life, and the concept of the “perfect suicide.” He questions the foundation of morality itself — and drags everyone around him into that abyss.
    5. Quiet, Elegant Evil:
Johan doesn’t scream, rant, or act cartoonishly. He’s calm, composed, and hauntingly charismatic — like evil dressed in a suit. Think of him as the anime version of Hannibal Lecter, but with the manipulative subtlety cranked to 11.

the first one that came to my mind was sosuke aizen from bleach. his one of the best, but i won't say his the best ever. why? intelligent, manipulative and charisma, which all add up to his character and the plan he was plotting.

I haven’t watched Monster yet, but I’ve heard a lot about Johan Liebert , people always mention how chilling and intelligent he is as a villain.

Great choice! Darth Vader is an absolute icon when it comes to villains. His transformation from Anakin Skywalker to the dark enforcer of the Empire is one of the most compelling character arcs in fiction.

Totally get that for an entire generation Darth Vader was the ultimate villain.
That air of mystery around him made him unforgettable.
And once we finally got to see his backstory it added so much depth.
He wasn't just powerful he was tragic, broken, and human underneath the mask. Such a legendary character!
