enabling hybrid mode vs. discrete GPU only, memory XMP settings, etc. Can we crowdsource optimal BIOS settings for max performance without sacrificing thermal safety?

What do you guys suggest on this matter

@QuadKnotRogue There's only so much leeway as much as you can afford to adjust ( and want to ).
Obviously Discrete GPU will overperform over hybrid mode, especially if you enable overclocking, but will the thermals be worth it? It mostly depends on what you consider optimal and how your specific GPU silicon is.

Max performance is a combination of these:
    - GPU setting: Discrete, may not be that much of a difference due to NVidia Optimus being improved and Legion's AI chip ( I don't have one, can't say ).
    - Overclock: the maximum you can afford w/o instability ( try to raise by +25MHz increments for VRAM and Clock and test one day, then raise the next day: may be different values for VRAM and Clock ).
    - Undervolt: a very specific and recommended only for experts procedure. Highly dependent on your own machine. Could void warranty.
    - Physical: raised laptop for optimal flow. A base with vents MAY NOT be optimal if the base itself is not properly engineered. Personally, just raised "tail" is ok.
    - Disabling CPU Boost: done by capping through Windows settings, at 99% CPU Power. Not every CPU needs that ( AMD ones are much less susceptible ).

Thanks for the reply my friend, after your recommendation, I have started to slowly over clock my CPU and GPU alternating each day, with an external cooling pad for safety. It is very evident that laptop is performing way better, but once I remove the cooling pad, I can see the hardware suffering from heat.

As a person constantly moving his laptop around, I can't afford to move a cooling pad well, so I'm gonna actually look into undervolting, luckily my laptop has a R7 6800h, so no intel raptor lake issues on my laptop.

Once the experiment is done, I'll let you know.

@QuadKnotRogue If you travel a lot, there's a very effective solution: a simple stand.

This kind of stand is cheaply available from Amazon and most stores, most probably also local ones.
It takes minimal space and gives what you need the most: unobstructed airflow.
It's actually the one I am using, without a vent.
