    Rainbow Six Siege servers are temporarily offline after a massive security breach. Some players got access to developer-only skins and billions of in-game points, while others were banned.Ubisoft is investigating the incident to assess the damage and prevent future breaches. The hack comes at a critical time, during the holiday season and ongoing esports events.

    Oopsie. Definitely bad timing. Wonder how long it'll take them to fix it?

    It is sad that this has happened, but Ubi will harden themselves against such attacks. I can only hope that they manage to roll themselves back to a healthy state where legitimate transactions aren't impacted. There might be some teething issues.

    I also read some claims that Ubi was exposed to other attacks, but I haven't seen anything credible.

    I don't condone unethical hacking, but Ubi has not exactly been the most pro-consumer gaming company. Those who are now tasked to resolve this, I hope that Ubi treats them well. It is not the best time to be penetrated.

    Their users are likely to continue on as normal.

    everyone has already given up on ubisoft, and they have become one of the worst companies over the years.

    That's why I don't trust no cloud, no body when they affirm we have titanium security don't worry. Maybe at first yes but then they pay less and the guard gets thin.

    What a mess. These companies keep proving that we need the laws from the ''Stop Killing Games' initiative, so we aren't so dependent on them.

    Yeah, the timing couldn’t be worse 😅.
    Ubisoft shut down the servers and marketplace immediately and started a rollback to remove all the illegitimate credits and skins. Fixing the economy and cleaning up the chaos will take some time!

    Ubisoft’s reputation has taken hits over the years 😅, but Rainbow Six Siege still proves it can support a long-term game. How they handle this rollback and communicate with players now will really decide if trust can be rebuilt!

    Yeah, I totally agree.
    No system is 100% secure, especially when attackers get admin-level access. This wasn’t just a regular hack it really shows why strong security and transparency matter!

    @Aapje
    Exactly. When a single breach can shut down servers disrupt the in-game economy and force a rollback it shows how dependent players are on publishers. Stronger consumer protections could really help in situations like this.

    @Abdelsalam they are probably going to do a server rollback before the hack happened. so all purchases and currencies will be reset. and after that most likely they will send rewards to all players as an apology.

    I heard that after the server rollback some player's accounts even ended up owing money😅. Crazy situation! And on top of that there’s talk about a potential leak of around 900GB of upcoming game data Ubisoft really has a big mess to clean up.
