    Hayakoum Gaming News!

Here is the full information of the Gaming News from Hayakoum Season 4 Episode 3.

App Store must allow third-party payments, judge tells Apple

    • Apple must stop blocking App Store developers from steering their users to third-party payment options, a federal judge ruled Friday, issuing a permanent injunction in the Epic Games v. Apple lawsuit.
    • The injunction is a significant victory for Fortnite maker Epic Games and other developers who have found the App Store’s terms — including the 30% cut of sales that Apple takes — onerous and unmerited. But Apple also claimed victory, in that it prevailed on all other counts, including against Epic’s allegation that Apple’s policies around in-app purchases constituted an illegal monopoly in the payment market for mobile games.
    • Under the injunction, issued Friday by Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, Apple cannot prohibit developers “from including in their apps and their metadata buttons, external links or other calls to action that direct customers to purchasing mechanisms.” The order is set to take effect in 90 days.
    • In her much larger finding-of-fact ruling concluding the Epic v. Apple trial, Gonzalez Rogers found that Apple is not “an antitrust monopolist in the submarket for mobile gaming transactions,” and that Epic Games “overreached” in arguing that it was. “However, [the court] does find that Apple’s conduct in enforcing anti-steering restrictions is anticompetitive,” Rogers said, pointing to the injunction she issued as the appropriate “remedy to eliminate those provisions. This measured remedy will increase competition, increase transparency, increase consumer choice and information while preserving Apple’s iOS ecosystem, which has procompetitive justifications,” Rogers wrote.

    • Although both companies must pay their own legal costs, the ruling directs Epic to compensate Apple for the App Store cut that the Fortnite maker avoided paying for months.

Grand Theft Auto 5 for PS5 and Xbox Series X delayed to March 2022

    • Rockstar Games showed off new footage and features from the expanded and enhanced versions of Grand Theft Auto Online and Grand Theft Auto 5 at Thursday’s PlayStation Showcase. We now know that the expanded and enhanced editions will include instant character switching, but we also learned the new release window is March 2022.
    • Rockstar Games had originally planned to release the new editions of the game on Nov. 11 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The developer originally announced that these editions would include “a range of technical improvements, visual upgrades and performance enhancements.” We got to see some of the gameplay footage at the PlayStation showcase, and it’s the usual mayhem that you might expect from Grand Theft Auto.
    • “While we are extremely excited to be bringing GTAV to the latest generation of consoles, the game requires a few additional months for polishing and fine-tuning,” Rockstar said in a blog on the developer’s official site. “We look forward to sharing more details about these expanded and enhanced versions soon, including the new standalone version of GTA Online also coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in March.”

      Insomniac Games announces Wolverine game

    • He’s the best at what he does — and he’s about to do it again. Wolverine, the Marvel Comics mutant with a healing factor and an adamantium-encrusted skeleton, will star in an upcoming game from Spider-Man developer Insomniac Games. Logan flashed his claws for the fans in an all-too-brief announcement trailer during Thursday’s PlayStation Showcase.
    • Wolverine has long been one of the most popular Marvel Comics characters ever, bringing his fighting talents to the X-Men, the Avengers, and many more. In a post on the PlayStation blog, Ryan Schneider of Insomniac Games said that while developers were working on Spider-Man, they would often talk about their ideas for making a game about Logan.
    • Wolverine is a standalone game, with Brian Horton serving as creative director and Cameron Christian as game director. Christian was also the game director for Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
    • Insomniac Games will have its hands full with potential storylines to use as inspiration for the mutant’s upcoming game, although the teaser included some hints as to the tone that fans might expect.

God of War Ragnarok is the finale in the Norse saga

    • God of War’s sequel, teased one year ago, now has an official name. It’s God of War Ragnarok, and the new trailer, from Thursday’s PlayStation Showcase, is our most in-depth look at the game yet.
    • God of War Ragnarok was delayed to 2022 earlier this year. Although Thursday’s trailer gave no date, Sony has since reaffirmed that window, referring to “the 2022 release of God of War Ragnarök on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5” in a PlayStation Blog post published after the showcase.
    • The story returns to the realm of Midgard, where Kratos immigrated with his son, Atreus, following the defeat of the Olympian gods. As the title implies, both will now be involved in the eschatological conclusion of Norse mythology, and presumably the rebirth of their world. During a more in-depth look following the event, developer Sony Santa Monica described God of War Ragnarok as the “finale” for Kratos’ Norse saga. That’s also where the studio confirmed that Ryan Hurst (Sons of Anarchy) will voice Thor, while Richard Schiff (The West Wing) will play Odin. Other new characters include Laya DeLeon Hayes as the jotunn Angrboda; Usman Ally as Durlin; and Ben Prendergast as Tyr, the Norse god of war.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Lost Legacy will be remastered for PlayStation 5 and PC

    • Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: Lost Legacy will be remastered for PlayStation 5 and Windows PC. The games will be bundled into a single product called Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection. An early 2022 launch window was given. The announcement was made Thursday during the PlayStation Showcase 2021, and accompanied by a gameplay trailer.
    • The Uncharted series launched in 2007, and remained a PlayStation console exclusive through the much of its lifespan. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End was released in 2016, and went on to win many game of the year awards. It’s the final story in the arc of protagonist Nathan Drake, and ostensibly the conclusion of the series.
    • Uncharted: The Lost Legacy was released in 2017 and talls the story of Chloe Frazer and Nadine Ross. It was the first Uncharted game not to feature Nathan Drake. In our review, we called it “a celebration of the series’ past and a nod to a possible future.”
    • Both games are being built by PlayStation Studios in cooperation with their original developer, Naughty Dog. No firm release date was announced.

Gran Turismo 7 launching this spring

    • Gran Turismo 7 will launch March 4, 2022, for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, Sony announced Thursday. It’ll be the first numbered entry in PlayStation’s driving series in almost nine years.
    • The launch date announcement came in a trailer filled with long looks at the game’s high-fidelity visuals and new features. Players were given glimpses of a large, apparently open world for driving, dotted with map icons and points of interest where they can pose their autos in GT7’s photo mode.
    • A large garage serves as the game’s hub world, and it’s where players will store all the vehicles they unlock. Upgrades and customizations galore await players, and the fleet ranges from supercars under the Porsche and Mercedes badges, to classic beaters, to mud-hopping jeeps, and just about anything else in between. More details are available on the PlayStation Blog.

      Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 coming to PS5 in 2023, bringing Venom with it

    • Face front, true believers! Marvel’s Spider-Man is indeed getting a sequel. Insomniac Games teased the new game on Thursday at Sony’s PlayStation Showcase 2021 and teased an important new villain: Venom.
    • Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is coming to PlayStation 5 in 2023, and both Peter Parker and Miles Morales will be in it as your friendly neighborhood Spider-Men.
    • Ryan Schneider, head of franchise strategy and studio relations at Insomniac Games, said on the PlayStation Blog that Marvel’s Spider-Man creative director Bryan Intihar and game director Ryan Smith will return for the sequel. Schneider also revealed that Tony Todd (of Candyman fame) will be voice Venom in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Yuri Lowenthal and Nadji Jeter will reprise their roles as Peter and Miles, respectively.
    • Marvel’s Spider-Man launched in 2018 for PlayStation 4 and was a tremendous hit for both Sony and Insomniac Games. Sony acquired the studio in 2019, following a nearly 20-year history of Insomniac developing big franchises for PlayStation consoles.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake coming to PS5, PC

    • Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is coming back. Aspyr Media is remaking BioWare and LucasArts’ classic Star Wars role-playing game for PlayStation 5 and Windows PC, the developer revealed Thursday at Sony’s PlayStation Showcase. Sony Interactive Entertainment will publish the remake on PS5.
    • Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic - Remake is “completely rebuilt from the ground up,” Aspyr said in a news release. Development of the remake is being led by “a newly created team composed of industry veterans at developer and publisher Aspyr, working in close collaboration with Lucasfilm Games.”
    • Aspyr is known for its work on creating Mac ports of Windows games and for reviving classic games for consoles and mobile devices — games like Star Wars: Republic Commando, Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast, and Star Wars Episode I: Racer. But the new version of KOTOR appears to be more than just a current-day port with modern conveniences.

Sony buys Firesprite, the studio behind The Playroom

    • Sony has added another developer to its PlayStation Studios lineup. On Wednesday, Sony announced that it has acquired Firesprite, a Liverpool-based studio that has worked with Sony several times in the past.
    • Several of Firesprite’s members were formerly part of Sony Interactive Entertainment Studio Liverpool, making this a return to Sony for many at the studio. Firesprite was founded in 2012 and has since developed a number of games for Sony’s PlayStation consoles. Firesprite’s previous games include The Playroom and The Playroom VR, Run Sackboy! Run!, as well as the horror game The Persistence.
    • Earlier this year, Firesprite announced that it has been working with Cloud Imperium Games on Star Citizen: Theater of Wars, a multiplayer game mode that will combine many different types of combat from Star Citizen. Sony and Firesprite’s announcement of the acquisition did not mention Theaters of War or any other specific upcoming projects. The announcement does include a statement from Firesprite’s managing director Graeme Ankers, which mostly focuses on the relationship that Firesprite and Sony have had so far, with few clues as to what might be in the studio’s future.
    • This is the second major addition to Sony’s PlayStation Studios so far this year. In June, Sony acquired Returnal developer Housemarque. A month later in July, Sony added Nixxes, a studio that’s worked on Marvel’s Avengers and several recent Tomb Raider games, to the PlayStation Studios roster as well.
