    Hello Legion community,

I have started experiencing framerate issues for about 2 months now on any game that I run, from League of Legends / World of Warcraft to Red Dead Redemption 2 and Cyberpunk 2077. I've had my laptop for 1.5 year now:

    Lenovo Legion 5 pro - 16ACH6H
    Ryzen 7 5800H, RTX 3070 8 GB

I used to get 90-120+ fps depending on the game that I play but now, whichever that I play I'm hovering around 30-65 fps or down to 15fps on certain games. When I launch a game I generally have most apps closed aside from Discord and the Game.

I've tried reading some threads and help that others received but to no luck. The method where I Disable the Battery from the Bios, leaving it for 10 minutes and then plugging it back in, I have also cleaned the fans and still no luck.

    Any advice would be appreciated

Hey sweetness 👋😅 ,It's not just you who complain about it ، after reading several reviews, I noticed that most of Lenovo devices work for you efficiently for one year, then their efficiency decreases and the defects and problems appear, and although Lenovo offers you devices with the best specifications and the lowest price, but it seems that the life of its devices is short، and this represents a big problem for me, because I cannot buy a new device every two years, but rather I want a device that will last with me for years, so people turn to Macbooks and Apple, because the devices in them are up to ten years old and work with you efficiently

@mostak I don't think it's the case that the lifespan is short. The device just likely needs maintenance.
@Ozero71 How did you clean the fans? Did you make sure all the vents are clear too? Maybe there's still some dust stuck and that's causing throttling.

Have you done a clean Windows install? Unfortunately, Windows tends to accumulate gunk over time. I have the same model of laptop and it still works fine for me. I definitely don't feel the need to keep apps closed.

@Saka I opened the back and cleaned it with a hair dryer and a microfiber cloth, cleaned out the vent so that there was no debris blocking it, and closed it up.

I haven't tried a clean Windows install yet but will try it and see if that fixes it up.

Any recommendations on any setting changes after the clean install?

@Ozero71 Nothing in particular, but there were some cooling settings in the Lenovo Vantage application, that actually matter. If the fans are not set to maximum performance then the system is more likely to throttle itself - at least mine does.

Other than that, high performance power mode in Windows when gaming, making sure the graphics drivers are up to date. Occasionally Windows manages to cause the drivers to break, so if there's strange stuff happening, such as artifacting, get a clean install of the drivers. Had several scares that my laptop was hijacked by aliens that just turned out to be malfunctioning drivers and resolved after redoing them.

Unfortunately, releases from the current year are just too much to run at native resolution anymore, I can get the games to run, but have to use DLSS to achieve that. Otherwise still getting decent, playable experience. Older games run just fine.

how did you find out which drivers had issues? whenever I do a checkup on Lenovo Vantage everything comes out as fine as well.

I updated the graphics via Nvidia and also via Lenovo but nothing changed, I'm running Performance Mode and also Over Drive in hopes of getting an improvement, it helped with temperature and a slight rise of fps from 30 to ~35+
