Note to all: Ignore @Geekfest84 on the previous page as he clearly did not click on the link. VRR is listed right there. CRTL+F and “VRR” will show it right in the official Lenovo literature on their official webpage. Case closed.

@Geekfest84, dude, visit this webpage and use the eyes and brain you have in your noggin:

    https://www.lenovo.com/il/en/legiongo

CTRL+F and search for “VRR”. It is right there in broad daylight. Yes, we do need to belabor it since @SergeyBalashov claimed Lenovo makes no mistakes and to take the official pages as gospel and to ignore any third party sources claiming to have obtained official information and materials. Yet here Lenovo made a mistake in marketing and/or got caught with their pants down in amateurishly sandbagging this feature. Well, this blows a hole straight into his theory that “Lenovo telleth no lies” and he is going to have to walk this back and explain his way out of this one.

if it’s on the website(which it is)- and it is wrong, they should correct it. it appears they did for certain countries, but not others.

Sergey should simply explain that it was a mistake and corrected. Maybe even mention that it was planned, but not included in the final product(no big deal) That’s not a lot of time spent for the AMA that will clarify the matter.

He had said before that Lenovo made no such claim that VRR was included, but it is there on the website. People were claiming it was on the website, and they basically were being told they were wrong, by an official Lenovo employee.

That hurts trust in this product and it’s future handling by Lenovo. We all want to see this product succeed.

Mate the only thing to note here is you haven't read the previous 10 pages of this thread have you? Note - why go over old stuff? He's said it's not coming. Leave it at that rather than waste everybody's time?

Think of it a different way. Maybe it's budget related. Maybe Originally the go was penned down to have vrr. Right now the Asus Rog ally is its main competitor, price wise. The go already has far more expensive features (the detachable controllers, FPS mode, faster ram, bigger screen etc etc) for the same money. Obviously the go costs more to develop and produce than the ally and yet the rrp is the same. If they added vrr, would that add to the cost to the end consumer? Yes, as no doubt Lenovo will have a profit margin to meet. So increased rrp means the ally is obviously cheaper. A lot of people look at specs when buying a new device, but just as many decide what they're buying with their wallet rather than their heart. If the go is X amount more than the ally, potentially a sizeable chunk of the market is going to go with the cheaper option. So to keep cost down to the consumer and stay competitive to the ally, vrr was omitted.

We definitely all want to see it succeed. It doesn't need vrr to do that, on top of all the other benefits it has over other pc based handhelds. 👍

    VRR:
    - There is no VRR, and there will be no VRR.
    - Leaks were wrong, and sadly many people confuse them with official sources
    - There is a single "notify me" page that is wrong as well - will be fixed right away to not confuse anyone. This is not a "big A-HA" moment, this is just a single misc page error (I will apologise and edit the original statement, since I was technically proven incorrect).
    - Press release, official video, product pages, retailers pages, and the PSREF page (when it comes life) all are correct and do not mention VRR, and never did.
    - VRR is not a main feature for such a fast screen on a handheld (explained here: https://gaming.lenovo.com/emea/threa...l=1#post156436 ), and we focused on other things instead, like size, refresh rate, color coverage, resolution and so on, which for some reason people choose to ignore, but it is their right to do so.
    - @baldsealion, thanks for pointing this out, and if you find other instances - please report it, so we can eliminate the confusion!

Reminder, that today is the last opportunity to ask questions, so let's use it!
Will come back in the evening with more answers.

It is actually fun to watch the enthusiasm from people who consider Go seriously, specially regarding to issues around VRR. 😂

@SergeyBalashov quick summary of my points where I would like a more precise answer if possible :
    1) Screen durability regarding scratches, and if it has anti-reflective coating, if you have more info on this
    2) At least considering the suggestion of adding 25W TDP in battery (even if it's only in "custom" mode), many people want this. Also AutoTDP mentioned in a previous post could be a good idea ?
    3) Also considering the suggestion about FPS limiter (slider) in Quick Menu, as you've seen that's a point we are many to want too ! Also a button for activating RIS would be great.
The less we have to go in Adrenalin the better !
    4) About speakers, I've understood that it was not the focus, but can you give me your honest opinion on if you think they're still pretty good ?

In any case thank you Sergey for your time on this AMA ! :)

    Hi Everyone!
Day 4 of AMA is here, and it's a kind reminder that tomorrow is the last day we will be accepting questions in this specific thread.
But this does not mean we will stop asnwerting tomorrow - I am commited to delivering answers to all questions recieved until tomorrow evening.
Yes, I know, not all questions are answered yet (such as the controller holders and so on), but they are still being discussed internally with the team.

    Durability of stand/rails/etc:
    - Hope you noticed the feedback of reviewers on how sturdy the hinge is. We tested a lot of hinges mechanisms and rails mechanisms, but we are not ready to share the nubmers yet. But I can tell that when it comes to any kind of moving parts mechanical engineering, all engineers are always way ahead of what general public thinks the resource is.

    Warranty and parts:
    - Go is covered by standard local country warranty (usual for EU is 2 years, and for some countries 3 years as default - depends on local laws), so that should actually tell you how sure are we about this device design.
    - This also means you do not need to care much about which options we do sell separately, as it is the same system of warranty coverage as with all our latpops.
    - In many countries there will be some extra paid options available - "Accidental Damage Protection" (including screen damage), "Keep Your Drive" , and for countries where 2 years come as standard - the 3-year warranty extention. I personally think the ADP and regular extentions are really worth their money.

    Carry case accessory:
    - It is in every box. We decided to not compromise on this valuable user experience.
    - It is rigid and firm outside, a bit softer inside.
    - Legion Glasses also come with a seprate carry case included

    Battery life (again):
    - The software and BIOS are not final, so no numbers on battery life of main unit or controllers.
    - Compared to others with smaller battery I definitely expect us to have more battery life, because there are no major features that would eat more battery compared to others. No, screen size and refresh rate difference is not that high to overturn the 20+% more battery capacity.
    - We are specifically fine-tuning quiet mode to be optimized for very low consumption.
    - Same with the laptops, the battery life will vary A LOT depending on how you use it - TDP, screen brightness and refresh rate, cooling mode, WiFi/Sound (yes, speakers are 2x2W, so they eat battery too! that's 4W of 49WHr battery right there).
    - I'd say limiting TDP, putting brightness to lower level, switching to 60Hz and using headphones will really extend your usage scenario a lot. If you will use it as a pure Windows tablet watching movies, I assume (assume! not confirm!) it may last you the whole 8-hr day or more.
    - If you turn everything to the max, of course you will not get a good battery life - same as with any laptop. It's math! You have 49Whr battery, so if you set your TDP to 20W, then add max brightness screen (let's say 5W to be over the top), sound 4W, WiFi 1W, you just got yourself 20+5+4+1 = 30W. So 49Whr divided by 30W = 1.6 hours.
    - If you tune TDP to 7W, use screen in 2W mode and do not use sound, then you get 7W+2W+1W = 10W, and that means you get 49Whr divided by 10W = almost 5 hours. (I do not count here some energy losses on cooler fan and on voltage translation losses for simplicity)

    Individual questions:

    - Haha, no frustration here. Just wanted to be absolutely clear on the topic.
I totally understand the interest for the product, and as a tech geek appreciate the questions.
I guess the thing that is visible from the inside of the industry, but is not that visible from outside is that how much efforts any new feature requires, and how hard it is to balance budget of every project so it fits the selected niche.

    - It's €799 in EU countries, and comparable prices in other EMEA countries. If we compare to gaming laptops - it's definitely in the budget zone category. If we look into gaming handhelds - it is buget-to-midrange category.

    - That should be a feature of GPU driver or a game itself, but not a hardware producer.
    - What we offer is the fast TDP slider in quick menu, that allows you to quickly tune how much of power budget do you want to allocate to processing, defining the performance level.
    - I'd say for handheld battery gaming it is a golden standard to use the FPS limiters built in the games.

    - We will get the final units to content creators before sales embargo for sure, and I hope they will have time to test them with release versions of HW/SW/BIOS. Although, we all know that no SW/BIOS is truly final, and we always work on improvements.

€799 would it be for the 512GB model or the 1TB model?

Does the Legion Go's screen support HDR in windows 11?

(I'm still hoping for an answer to this...)

@heropon I also think the same. Once we are in the middle of a game, what we want most is convenience and for everything to be easily accessible. Having to exit the game to open the adrenaline would seem like a waste of time and it would be very little. comfortable. A quick access menu like the steam pad with the fps limiter and tdp limiter at hand would be great. Although @SergeyBalashov thinks it is unnecessary, I always use it. I like to get the most out of the battery with the best performance

    Hey everyone,

Thank you so much for all of your questions, and a big shout out to @SergeyBalashov for so astutely answering them!

The AMA has now closed for question submissions, but Sergey has kindly promised to check back in early next week to answer a few of the extra ones that he didn't get time to respond to whilst the AMA was live.

Here's hoping we can have some further AMAs - we know it's an amazing exclusive opportunity for our community and it's fantastic to see our members so passionately engaging with it!
