Siguiendo con la discusión de posibles aplicaciones de la IA en videojuegos, una nueva patente sugiere que Sony está investigando formas de desarrollar juegos que se juegen solos en momentos en los que te aburras de ellos y quieras continuar con la historia.
La idea de una función "automática" se ha visto sobre todo en los juegos de rol multijugador masivos en línea (MMORPG), como Runescape por ejemplo, donde se pueden realizar ciertas tareas repetitivas sin necesidad de hacerlas nosotr@s mism@s.
Descrita como un "método y sistema para la reproducción automática de partes de un videojuego", la patente está diseñada básicamente para permitir que la IA sustituya al jugador en ciertas secciones tediosas o repetitivas de un juego, como con el típico farmeo para subir de nivel.
Tal y como se describe en la solicitud de patente, esto se conseguiría permitiendo que el modo de juego automático utilice "datos del modelo de juego del usuario" para simular el "estilo de juego del usuario".
Cuando el juego termine de moler a los jugadores, aparecerá una notificación preguntándoles si quieren continuar con el modo de juego automático o retomar el control ellos mismos.
¿Qué os parece? ¿Creeis que esta función tendría posibilidades en consolas o más allá de los RPG?
Depende, si es para un MMORPG lo veo bien, quiero decir hay diarias que son muy tediosas, no te supone una dificultad hacerlas pero sí un gasto de tiempo por lo que podría llegar a verlo útil.
En el resto de juegos, ¿para que? yo creo que la solución a no tener que repetir partes que ya hemos jugado es poner más puntos de guardado, yo no me compro un juego para que la IA lo juegue por mí, incluso si aprende de mis movimientos, en juegos de lucha ya hay algo así como un modo fantasma que copia tu estilo de lucha y puedes volver a jugar contra ti mismo y superarte las veces que quieras.
Vamos que depende del juego, imagina si ya la gente hace trampas en shooters como Call of Duty, incluso en competiciones oficiales (aimbot, wallhack, etc) ni te digo si la IA juega por ti.

Creo que en este caso la "novedad" reside en una patente para consolas, donde no hay ese funcionalidad "de serie". Sin tener más detalles, imagino que quizá piensen introducir la patente directamente en las consolas, para que los desarrolladores la usen (o no, como bien dices, dependerá del juego).
Tengo una teoría muy conspi donde esta función sería bienvenida por tod@s en un futuro no muy lejano (o quizá paralelo), pero si, estamos de acuerdo, para qué jugar a un juego que juegan por ti. Para eso, pues mejor verse una serie o una peli que no hay que hacer nada XD
Pd, no sabía lo del "modo fantasma" en los juegos de lucha, ¿está en el Tekken 8?
Pues... sinceramente... utilidad... poca, si quieres ver una zona o juego tal vez mejor un gameplay de alguien jugando, si quieres evitar una tarea repetitiva mejor una "tarea" que se finalice en segundos pero que no te permita jugar hasta que pase su cooldown que seria aproximado al tiempo que te llevaria hacerlo. Vamos, convertir una mision habitual de farmeo en una con cooldown...
No lo veria mal en situaciones habituales de juegos con farmeo... pero entonces para que hacer farmeo?, eso cambiara la forma de farmear haciendo que juegos lo prohibirieran ya que no demandaria tiempo activo al jugador, ademas de que si es con IA y en vivo consumiria lo mismo o mas que si estuvieras jugando :(.
Os imaginais un juego de granjitas donde todo se hiciera solo despues de jugar 1 dia mientras tu trabajas? :/.
En resumen, veo mucho mejor el que te haga una media de recursos obtenidos por estadisticas de los que obtendrias tu habitualmente y te pusiera un cooldown, vease que si consigues 4 tesoros por hora (por decir algo), pues pudieras poner en modo farmer y por cada 15 minutos que no jugaras al juego pues te consiguieras un tesoro... mas respetuoso en tiempo, energia y tal...
Y luego tenemos en que romperia mercados y seria mas aun pay to win los juegos de farmeo... las economias se desplomarian, saturacion de mercado, inflacion debido a farmeo de dinero rapido... contratacion de jugadores para creacion de "perfiles de farmeo"... en fin, un tema muy turbio.
Pero, bah, es de Sony la patente?, entonces tal vez quieran meter mucho grindeo en sus juegos single player, meterte micropagos sin parar y ser en definitiva... Sony. Y luego obligarte a tener las consolas suyas supercaras encendidas y justificar que sean potentes y con IAs avanzadas para que te compres la nueva consola porque la antigua farmea mas lento XD.
Lo veo todo negativo... porque seamos sinceros, esto son empresas y lo que quieren es ganar mas dinero XD, si hacen esto adaptaran los juegos teniendo en cuenta esto de manera que si no lo usas te sera aun mas frustrante todo a menos que pagues mas o dediques mas tiempo de juego y electricidad.
El unico caso positivo que veria seria si te cuesta MUCHO pasarte una zona pero para eso no esta diseñado la patente, y para viajes largos repetitivos para lo cual... lo dicho, mejor una pantalla de carga y cooldown, como siempre se ha hecho de mandar peones a buscar objetos o el viaje rapido. Sencillo, rapido y efectivo.
Solo faltaba que hicieran que en fases de avance de juegos fueran medio AFK y solo jugaras en toma de decisiones y bosses... para eso... diseñar el juego con videos y modo solo bosses cuando quieras y modo narrativa.
El conocimiento es poder, úsalo bien, pues su mal uso conlleva a la destrucción.

The Quarry tiene un modo película, que es literal que el juego juega por ti y tú lo ves como una peli. Aparte de muchas opciones de accesibilidad donde puedes elegir que en las partes donde hay que ser rápidos y pulsar botones de manera ágil, el juego lo haga por ti, también más tiempo de decisión en las elecciones, etc. Tiene partida en solitario, co-op y multiplayer y está en Game Pass, a lo mejor podemos jugarlo un día...

Sinceramente, creo que esta patente es para introducir una función que ya existe en móviles y pcs pero en consolas (probablemente en un intento de "innovar" en un medio que tiene los días contados...a no ser que saquen algo tan novedoso que un PC sea imposible de igualarlo: dudoso, pero estaría genial verlo).

The Quarry lo estuve testeando durante un tiempo antes de que lo sacaran, pero nunca llegué a completarlo porque me pasaron a otro proyecto. Pero lo que vi me gustó (aunque da miedito!!). No recuerod que tuviera cooperativo online, pero estaría genial jugarlo con alguien y ver el final (me quedé más o menos a la mitad).
Este tipo de juego o más bien, película interactiva no sé si triunfó mucho, pero creo que es una buena idea y que no se ha explotado tanto como género y esas opciones de accesibilidad que comentas están muy bien. Al fin y al cabo, y como dice Blackgem, las empresas están para ganar dinero, y cuanta más opciones ofrezcan y a más público lleguen, pues más dinero (en teoría) acabarían haciendo, y eso beneficia (hasta cierto punto) al usuario final porque tiene más opciones 🤝

No le tengo manía a Sony sino sus malas decisiones de:
-Cerrar su sistema desde PS3 evitando la ejecucion de software libre incluso a usuarios que pagaron por ello.
-Basar su estrategia en pagar exclusivos impidiendo que puedan usarse en otras plataformas y por tanto perjudicando a la comunidad (por lo mismo no me gusta Epic), una cosa es financiar un desarrollo y ponerlo mas barato en tu plataforma y otra distinta es tirar de billetera y contactos para dificultar a la competencia de manera agresiva. Fastidiando a empresas, indies y otros por el camino.
-Poner un sistema de suscripcion online caro sin apenas extras... si lo comparas con el de Xbox con todo el catalogo de gamepass, sistemas de recompensas, etc... no hay color.
-Poner casi toda traba posible para evitar crossplay entre plataformas (por ello hay mucho crossplay entre xbox y PC pero apenas con Sony, ahora se ven mas obligados pero antes... puff).
-Evitar retrocompatibilidades habituales y cobrar 7 veces por el mismo juego... ya podrian poner su catalogo accesible para todos en buena calidad desde PSX, que tienen los derechos y no lo hacen. Eso es un punto en comun con Nintendo que hacen cutre port emulados pero bueno, a menos lo van sacando de gratis con su suscripcion y van poco a poco implementando mas y mas juegos antiguos para que puedan jugarse legalmente.
-La única decisión positiva de Sony en los últimos 5 años tal vez haya sido pasar los juegos exclusivos a PC... lo cual es debido a una elección negativa como es propiamente la exclusividad de plataforma. Pero que se va a hacer si los juegos que son buenos en Sony venden mas en PC que en su propia consola.
-Y como detalle importante, hace 2 años ni usaba Microsoft Store, pero poniendomelo facil y economico con una suscripcion con variedad de sitios donde jugar (consola, pc, movil, y esperando que adecuen bien cloud para smart tv)... si quisiera hacerlo con Sony deberia gastarme un pastizal
El resumen es... que aporta Sony como empresa al mundo de los videojuegos hoy dia excepto algunos juegos concretos (last 4 us, god of war)?, ya que juegos concretos significa que tiene buenos estudios comprados, no que la empresa tome buenas decisiones que beneficien al jugador. Pero bueno, creo que eso lo saben ya de sobra y de ahi despidos y estan reestructurando todo para ver como afrontan de cara al futuro, de ahi que hayan querido enfocarse en juegos como servicios (comprar Bungie con Destiny y darle tanto presupuesto, libertad y recursos en Helldiver).

Detalle curioso, hace ya muchos años salieron patentes con Stadia tambien en los que no una IA, sino otro jugador, videos de la zona o incluso soporte, podrian ayudarte a superar ciertas zonas complejas de cara a la accesibilidad y facilidad. Aunque lo unico que llegue a ver implementado al final es poder tener una minicam en tu partida con la vision del otro jugador en creo que era Far Cry 6, rainbow six o algun juego shooter asi... eso si me parecia algo muy interesante para cuando no hay opcion de resaltar una zona especifica de algo o quieres enseñar algo a alguien y tal... jugar era casi ver una partida de torneos.

Por ahora, me conformaria que dieran buen uso de las IA para remasterizar juegos antiguos (texturas, bugs, adecuar graficamente) para un posterior minimo trabajo humano y de QA, pero es que si hay muchos juegos que ni siquiera revisan una sola vez las traducciones antes de sacar un parche (con variables vacias, codigo visible y frases a medio traducir)... imaginate ya esforzarse con una IA, la cual posiblemente, podria detectar todo ello mucho mas facilmente.
Antes de añadir nuevas funcionalidades revolucionarias es mejor sacar algo jugable decentemente XD. Vease Ark... aun sigue roto, malas traducciones incluso en pantalla principal, etc... incluso con cambio de motor, pero si no revisan bien los cambios da igual que uses las mejores herramientas sino hay un minimo control de calidad. Ahora imaginaros que de un sistema medio roto, pones una IA media rota... pues... nada, memes y videos de Youtube asegurados XD.
El conocimiento es poder, úsalo bien, pues su mal uso conlleva a la destrucción.

No, ya en serio, estoy de acuerdo en muchos aspectos, pero tengo info desde dentro y se que las decisiones malas que se toman, no vienen de la gente que trabaja en PS, sino de dinosaurios que curran en Sony y que no tienen idea de videojuegos. Al menos Microsoft tiene más visión de conjunto!! Pero veremos en qué acaban las consolas, lo mismo de aquí a 10 años son historia 🤷♀️

You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Lenovo and its employees, officers, affiliates and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including without limitation, reasonable attorney's fees and costs, arising out of or in any way connected with any of the following: (i) Your Content or your misuse of the Platform; (ii) your breach or alleged breach of these Terms; (iii) your violation of any third party right, including without limitation, any intellectual property right, publicity, confidentiality, property or privacy right; (iv) your violation of any laws, rules, regulations, codes, statutes, ordinances or orders of any governmental authorities, including, without limitation, all regulatory, administrative and legislative authorities; or (v) any misrepresentation made by you. You will cooperate as reasonably requested by Lenovo with respect to any such claim. Lenovo reserves the right to assume control of the defence or settlement of any such claim, and you will not in any event settle any such claim without the prior written consent of Lenovo.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain.
Entire Agreement; Severability
These Terms, together with Lenovo’s Data Privacy Policy and any amendments and any additional agreements you may enter into with Lenovo in connection with the Platform, shall constitute the entire agreement between you and Lenovo concerning the Platform. If any provision of these Terms is deemed invalid, then that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions of these Terms will remain in full force and effect.
Limitations of Liability
Neither Lenovo nor its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, third party content providers, sponsors, or licensors warrant that the Site will be continuous, uninterrupted or error-free. THE PLATFORM, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, ITS CONTENT, IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMISSIBLE BY LAW, LENOVO HEREBY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR ANY WARRANTIES BASED ON A COURSE OF DEALING. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LENOVO SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA OR USE, RESULTING FROM YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE LEGION COMMUNITY, EVEN IF LENOVO HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF ANY SUCH DAMAGES IN ADVANCE.
