Hello Legion Gamers!

A bit of a sad story yesterday/today as Microsoft closed down several Bethesda studios, including some very good ones. But every cloud may have a silver lining, however bleak it seems.

Some may look at it as an opportunity and a challenge. Alexander Ponomarev, an art director and 3-D artist from Talking Drums studio, who worked on such games as Call of Duty Black Ops III, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Path of Exile, and more current Prey, announced the studio debut game Trench Tales on Kickstarter.

The game takes place in the alternate reality Verdun (hello Valiant Hearts!) and is a grim gothic shooter with a paranormal twist, something like World Wars Dishonored:

The plan is to release it on Steam in about a year, in March 2025. But the important detail here is the crowdfunding initiative and the Kickstarter campaign. Indeed, if big companies are closing down studios, this is another way to get games out to us gamers. There are 4 more weeks left in the campaign and anyone can join in. If you are interested, here is some more info. Hopefully, it will turn out good.

I wonder what other studios and game developers would benefit from the Kickstarted approach? I would certainly try to help Arkane or Tango stay afloat if they asked...
