@DracoTarot Speaking of another classic, I recently found out that Little Big Adventure is getting a remaster. They were working on a relaunch and then it got scraped, and there was a lack of funding and interest from publishers. But that seems to have changed since then, and now the project has become too big and ambitious:

That's from 1994, 30 years ago. 1997's LBA 2 was one of the first games I played when I got my own PC back then, not sure how many people know of it. Maybe @GoLLuM13 or @ramax would.

And back then lack of interest was why the third part never saw the light of day. It could be that if the remake does well, we may even see part 3 after all...

@DoctorEldritch I used to love LBA when I was a kid even if I couldn't finish it, it was super fun

@GoLLuM13 It was hard to get access to games back when, with all the CDs and such, so I ended up playing LBA2 first. But that game had a bug where in-game video scenes would not play, and I did not realise it right away because I was small back then, but I ended up missing some plot points. I still finished the game, and years later I played it again properly, and part 1 as well.

And now if we're lucky we'll get to do it again, but differently 😉

@DoctorEldritch A lot of memories of this game! I loved video games in isometric view!

For the nostalgic, the firsts versions are in "abandonware".

I loved the publisher ADELINE SOFTWARE

@DoctorEldritch LBA was such a fun game but just like @GoLLuM13 I never finished it.

@ramax Ah, I remember you mentioned abandonware before. It is good to know that there are those here who remember those little gems.

You know, after you mentioned it, it is interesting, I do not really like the isometric view if the character is controlled by a mouse (as in, you need to click somewhere to make the character go there). But I have no problem with it if in isometric view the character is controlled by keys (was or arrows). I guess for me immersion comes from tactile... I wonder why...

Did you try LBA2? They still have isometric interiors there, but the exterior is sort of open-world 3-d? I remember I was impressed by it at the time.

It's a shame about ADELINE SOFTWARE, yeah... I wish there was a segment of "Where they are now?" or something similar about closed video game studio staff. I mean, old music bands or series from the '80s and '90s have that, why not game development companies? It would be interesting to find out where the people responsible for those old games ended up now.

@DracoTarot Well, fingers crossed here comes your chance to close that Gestalt. 😉
