Hello! I recently purchased a Legion 5i pro (i7 13700hx and rtx 4060) variant (2023 model) from lenovo's website. But it seems my unit has some issue. The battery only lasts for 2 hours on balanced mode. I turned to quiet mode in the vantage software with the iGPU mode enabled but the best I could get was 3 hours. I checked out a few forums and saw other people have this issue as well. They suggested checking the idle battery drain using BatteryViewInfo and I found out that the battery drain even on idle was 15W. I've tried updating the BIOS, updating other intel drivers, rolling back the BIOS but nothing seems to work. Looking for some help from you guys now. Thanks.

as far as I'm concerned It's not an issue, it's normally how things are in gaming laptops in general.

You might also consider dropping off the refresh rate to 60Hz, lower screen brightness, turn off the keyboard backlit, close idle apps...etc

and if you did all of that and it's still draining, consider checking battery health 😅

Hey, I hope you're doing good.
I have some tips for you that for me it works, keeps my laptop on for at least 5 hours.

    • Ensure your laptop is well-ventilated and clean to prevent overheating, which can drain the battery faster.
    • Disconnect any external devices like USB drives, external mice, or headphones that consume power when not in use.
    • Ensure that your system drivers, especially graphics drivers (NVIDIA & Intel), and BIOS are up to date. Sometimes updates include power-saving improvements.
    • In Nvidia Control Pannel, you can adjust how your graphics card works, I choose Low Power Mode when disconnecting my battery from power
    • Adjust the maximum processor state in your power settings to around 60-70%

One additional thing you might consider is checking for background apps or processes that could be causing the high idle drain.

Make sure that the different programs and applications do not run in the background because they drain the battery, and also install a new Windows and try not to install too many programs and not run them at once because in this way the battery will drain severely and also disable the programs that start with the start of Windows after restarting the system through the task manager and do not forget to activate Windows as well and put the laptop in an air-conditioned place at least or at a good temperature so that you will get the best performance It's possible!

And try not to fill the hard drive of the Windows system !
And always open the antivirus program, whether Windows Defender or Avast antivirus!
    I wish you good luck
