September is the most significant month of 2024 in terms of the number and variety of high-profile games available. It features long-awaited titles and entirely new experiences that strive to make their mark on the gaming scene.

    Age of Mythology: Retold

    About the Game:
Coming from the creators of the Age of Empires series, Age of Mythology: Retold takes us beyond history into a legendary age where gods, monsters, and humans clash. By combining the beloved elements of the classic Age of Mythology with modern real-time strategy design and visuals, Retold promises an epic and innovative experience for both veteran and new players alike.

    Astro Bot

    About the Game:
Unlike Astro’s Playroom, which was offered for free with the PS5, Astro Bot is a full-scale standalone adventure that presents over four times the number of worlds, with more than 50 planets to explore, 300 robots to rescue, and dozens of new powers and features for players to discover. Astro Bot took approximately three years to develop, with the core development team at Team Asobi consisting of 60 people, not including additional external staff who contributed to the project.

    Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2

    About the Game:
Thirteen years after the release of the first installment, the second entry in the Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine series returns with more advanced gameplay mechanics and more thrilling events. For those curious about the length of the main story campaign, it has been confirmed that Space Marine 2’s campaign lasts about 12 hours.
The game features several major modes, including a campaign that spans approximately 12 hours. It continues the story of Lieutenant Titus, immediately following the events of the first game, as Titus fights alongside Shiron and Gadriel against swarms of Tyranids.

    Harry Potter Quidditch Champions

    About the Game:
Last year’s Hogwarts Legacy did not include playable Quidditch, which disappointed many fans. However, we’ll soon be able to enjoy this magical sport with the upcoming Harry Potter game titled Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions, which WB Games announced earlier this year.
The game offers players the chance to join three magical schools: the mountainous Valley of the Pyrenees at the Beauxbatons Academy of Magic, the icy regions of the Durmstrang Institute under the northern lights, and, of course, the familiar grounds of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

    UFL

    About the Game:
UFL was first announced three years ago, when developer Strikerz Inc. took the stage at Gamescom’s Opening Night Live to present an ambitious project aimed at competing with eFootball and FIFA. After various delays and multiple beta versions, this new football competitor is set to launch in September.
The game has been in development for 6 years and leverages the features of the Unreal Engine, including professional player designs, rosters, and customization options. Most notably, it is free-to-play and aims to provide a fair experience for all players in the football genre, addressing the lack of competition in recent years.

    Final Fantasy XVI

    About the Game:
It has been revealed that Final Fantasy 16 has been in development for PC for about a year and will finally be released in September with new features that take advantage of PC capabilities.
Final Fantasy 16 will be available for purchase on Steam and the Epic Games Store at a price of $49.99, which is lower than the $70 launch price on PS5. Given that the game is over a year old, this pricing adjustment was perhaps expected.

    Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown

    About the Game:
Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown will be the twenty-first installment in the Test Drive series and the first in a long time, specifically since the release of Test Drive Ferrari Racing Legends in 2012. It will also be the third game in the Unlimited subseries, which focuses on open-world racing.

    FC 25

    About the Game:
EA SPORTS FC 25 offers new ways to achieve victory for your club. It introduces Rush, a 5v5 mode that provides a new way to play with friends in Football Ultimate Team, Clubs, and Kick-Off within a smaller-scale environment. In Rush mode within Football Ultimate Team, you can build your dream team of 5 players with up to 3 friends, with each player controlling their favorite position on the field.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

    About the Game:
After Link's sudden disappearance, it falls upon Zelda to save the kingdom of Hyrule. Instead of using a sword, she wields a magical tri-staff. This enchanted weapon can create echoes of various objects and deploy them at any time, allowing her to place wooden crates, water blocks, and more to explore the world and solve puzzles. Zelda can also summon echoes of monsters to fight alongside her, each with unique abilities, resulting in a unique experience for each player.

    Frostpunk 2

    About the Game:
Set 30 years after the first game, Frostpunk 2 unfolds in a world that has suffered a cataclysmic event, leading to an eternal winter. In this sequel, we witness The City striving to survive. However, due to the nature of humanity, various factions have emerged, each pushing for development and management in often conflicting directions. As the agent, your mission is to oversee and manage these competing interests.

A lot of great games this month, yet all are either, remakes, sequels or re-releases.
Astro Bot seems most promising, since the release is Astro's playroom many were anticipating a full fledged sequel and they are finally doing it.

Age of Methodology: Retold looks nice. I've been a fan of the series since I was a little kid. Yet... I don't think I'll play that remake 😂.
They remade Age of Empires 2 before and Warcraft 3 which are two legendary RTS games while I'm still here playing the originals, putting aside that Warcraft 3 remake sucked. The Age of Empires 2 Remake was good. But playing the originals just feels more right for me 😅.

Heard many not-so-good stuff about Harry Potter Quidditch Champions from people who played the Beta. But again, it's only Beta. Maybe the final release will be better. Either way, I can just play the good old classic Harry Potter: Quidditch World Cup from 2003
