@ZaidH Maybe after the series comes out, there will be comparisons between how it is in the games and how it is in the series. They did something like that with The Last of Us.

@DoctorEldritch Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but did watch the Yakuza live action 😅?

@ZaidH Not yet. To be honest, I am not in much of a hurry to do that. I may get to it at some point, but I want to read the reviews first, besides, as you know, my backlog is notoriously long...

    Did you?

@ZaidH I read that it got mixed reviews. While Eurogamer reports that the show managed to preserve the "anarchy spirit" of the game, IGN wrote that despite good acting, the series may not have enough in common with the game.

All in all, not sure about this one so far. I think I'll need to give it some time and see what others think too...

@DoctorEldritch Those reviews seem spot on lols. Only 3 episodes are out right now, so I can’t say much, but wow, it’s a rollercoaster of a show 😅 That said, I think you’ll really like some of the characters. Let’s discuss it once you’re through your backlog. By then, I might have sorted out my own feelings on the show too 😂

@ZaidH I usually start watching the shows after they fully come out. I do not binge them, I just find it a comforting thought that I can if I want to and that I can watch the next episode tomorrow and not after a whole week. I will bump it on my list, but I will not get to it until it's completely out.

And I am working my way through the backlog 😅 Last week I watched Ludwig and now I am on the fourth season of Only Murders in the Building.

@DoctorEldritch That would be my preferred way to enjoy shows and games too, but with spoilers so rampant these days (especially those spoilery thumbnails on YouTube 😡), I just try to watch/play whenever I can.

Both the shows seem like a blast! Ludwig, in particular, has such a unique premise 😲

@ZaidH Ah, yes, I always try to be wary of spoilers. I try to avoid any information about the series I want to watch, but for some reason, it is not that hard for me. The trick for me is not to pay attention to what is being written: once I put a series on my list, I stop caring or thinking about it until its turn comes up, so if I encounter any information about that series, chances are I do not remember it. This system only failed me once, with Mr. Robot.

I am not sure about the unique premise in Ludwig, crime stories with detectives who are weird and excel in a particular skill are relatively common. What I like about this one as it feels more relatable as the detective who solves murders is actually believably dysfunctional compared to others who are smug about it. Sherlock, I am looking at you. Plus, I like David Mitchell who is the lead. But after I watched it, when I thought about it, the crimes themselves were quite dull, to be fair. So if you watch Ludwig, you'd do it for actor play, overall characters and that British humour comedy rather than actual investigations and believable crime solving. From that angle, I enjoyed it. And, it has some nice renditions of Beethoven's music.

@DoctorEldritch Oh man, I wish I could stick to the same system as you, but my brain is hardwired to spot spoilers floating around online 😭 Getting Mr. Robot spoiled is rough though! That show is packed with twists, so hopefully, it wasn’t one of the big reveals 😅

I’m not super familiar with crime stories, so all these synopses seem really interesting to me. I don’t know much about David Mitchell, but I do know Selena Gomez, so Only Murders in the Building seems like the series for me 😁

@ZaidH Nah, with Mr. Robot it was that big one. 😅

I like Crime stories but not in their pure form, in pure form I only go for classics, like Poirot, for example. But more often I watch crime stories that have a mix of Comedy and Drama added to them. From that angle, OMitB is good, though I am annoyed with them now for dropping character plotlines over the course of the series, but they were renewed for season 5 now, so maybe they will bring some of those back.

I think I shared David Mitchell sketches before, he used to do those Soap Box monologues that I sometimes share:
