@DoctorEldritch Rockstar would be a good choice and I'm sure they will be successful. May tackle them a few years before releasing the game if it ever happens.

A Lovecraftian atmosphere would be the ultimate choice. Any game with a Gothic aurora and feel to it won't pass me by. I agree with you. Outsirght horror "KILLS" the vibe. 😂

I'm done waiting and seriously need to watch Beetlejuice. Tomorrow will be the day or night depending on my mood.

I will tell you how Mr Invetween ends without spoilers, I promise. Currently, I'm on episode 5 and season 3 ends on episode 9. I think it's going to be a cliffhanger.

@DracoTarot Maybe, they are usually slow but thorough. And the chances of that happening are slim anyway.

Well, one may argue that Lovecraft is not horror as such, more of a mystical thriller kind of vibe. In that sense, maybe it is not entirely accurate to compare it to things that are more "pure" horror...

I watched it last week before the weekend. Did you manage to by now?

Ah, so only a few episodes left. From what I've been reading it seems that they finished it properly, but it is still unclear.

@DoctorEldritch, I can confirm that Mr Inbetween had a good ending and the last episode was done properly. I hope they will decide to release a season 4. Mr Inbetween was a decent series and needs more recognition. It's worth the watch.

Yeah, Lovecraft is more like fantasy fiction or weird fiction. Depending on how you perceive it, some of Lovecraft's work does lean a little towards Horror.

Well, he is also considered one of America's most important Gothic writers.

Pure Horror is definitely on a different scale.

@DracoTarot But if the ending was good and they wrapped up all character and story arcs, then there may not be a need for season 4?

The essence of horror changes over time, too: what was scary back then may be less so now. Maybe Lovecraft was a horror when he wrote, but now those stories are redefined according to modern classification?

Did you manage to watch Beetlejuice 2 in the end?

@DoctorEldritch There's a twist in the final episode and by the looks of it not everything is wrapped up. I'm not going to spoil it for you and it's up to you how things pan out. 😊

Horror most definitely changed over time and what I found is people do not like or lose interest in the classic horror genre. These days it's all about the "Gore" factor.

Haven't watched Beetlejuice yet. I had no time this week and this past weekend but going to make a point this week.

@DracoTarot That's interesting to know, by the looks of it chances of more seasons may be somewhat low. I'll add it to my list. Who knows, by the time I get through to it, there may be more seasons after all 😅

Hmm, I am not so sure. I like thriller horrors, sort of like what AHS was doing when it fist started. You know, where the scare comes from the suspicion that something is wrong rather than buckets of blood and severed limbs or what have you.

But on that note, for example, if you've seen it, would you say Crimson Peak is a horror?

Ah, well then, have fun watching Beetlejuice 2 when you manage to get to it 😉

I prefer games to moovies because i get more fun of it. I have to say I'm not a horror fan(movies or games) and not because it scares me but the opposit, I watch moovies to critic the producer the director and scenograph. Horror games, I play them because it gets in the row

@AgariciRo That's fair, but you can critique horror game developers as well, not only movie directors. I guess it is easier to be an impartial observer when it comes to movies, but still. What horror games have you played?

@DoctorEldritch I am finally back after a long week of work. This weekend is all about kicking the feet up and doing nothing.

Crimson Peak is more of a Thriller, well, in my opinion. It's not a bad movie, and I enjoyed it.

@DracoTarot Ah, have fun with that. I imagine you need to rest before next week, Halloween is bound to be a busy time for you 😉 So you will finally get to Beetlejuice 2 then?

Yes, exactly. The jury is still out about whether it is horror or thriller, and Wikipedia even describes it as gothic Romance. With such an abundance of terms, no wonder sometimes it is hard to even know what horror is unless it has clear gore or murder or some sort of monster. I guess, for me, tension as such is ok, but jumpscares or gore are not, but wether or not movie that has or does not have those elements is classified as horror, thriller or something else is secondary.
