@DracoTarot That is a low number, but high enough to be a challenge to fill for some... But the fact that you need permission for a party is a surprise. I mean, it is only neighbourly and polite to ask permission from neighbours, I'd do that even if it was not a requirement, but why does the metro need to know?

Sound curfew makes sense, though, in my neighbourhood it is illegal to do something loud after 23:00, it is even in the contract. To make sure everyone can get a good night's sleep, more so as we have a "retiree community" next to us, and they probably need a bit more looking after than your average neighbours.

No need to rush with Douglas is Cancelled, it is entertaining enough (I especially liked the jazz pieces they have during ending titles), but not so important as to prioritise it over something else you may want to watch.

@DoctorEldritch Everything is an issue here and people complain a lot. There are "KARENS" everywhere, especially in my neighbourhood.

I do understand if a party may get too loud then you have the fullest right to complain but in certain cases, they do not want other people to have a little fun because no one is interested in them and they lead an awful and boring life. It seems they get jealous when seeing other people being happy.

@DracoTarot C'est la vie. But hey, at least you get an occasional owl guest, so it can't be all that bad.

Sorry to hear that. One would hope issues would bring people together, not divide them so...

@DoctorEldritch, I wish Owly would return. I haven't seen one in a while. I think it's due to all the stormy weather we've been having lately.

It's part of our daily lives and we got used to it. People seem not to be so friendly anymore and I guess we have to learn to cope with it.

@DracoTarot When did Owly visit the last time? It could be part of the migration pattern, if so, it would make sense for her to return around the same time as the last time. But you're right, the weather could also be a factor, and this year has been quite drastic with the weather already, with all the floods and hurricanes and all...

@DoctorEldritch Her last visit was in February of this year, and she disappeared after that. Hopefully, she will return in the new year.

Where I live the weather is getting hectic. The storms are more intense and come with full force.

Climate change is a real issue or is it? I am convinced some of the storms we experience are man-made. The funny thing here is we do not have much air traffic and plains do not fly often over my area. Some days I notice plains flying at a high altitude and it almost seems they are leaving chem trails in the sky. About 3 hours or so seeing them a huge cloud formation forms and then a chaotic storm.

Could be my imagination but anything is possible.

@DracoTarot If not her, then maybe some of her offspring. Do you still have a house for them?

This year is quite unusual weather-wise, it's behaving oddly. We had the biggest storm since 1967 where my parents live this year, lots of trees fell down...

Scientifically speaking it is not possible at this stage to create a storm using chemicals, it was the conclusion resulting from Project STORMFURY back in the 1960s that failed. More likely a coincidence combined with the fact that this year may have more storms on average.

@DoctorEldritch The house is still up but I think other birds are interested in occupying it.

During summer we always have storms around noon. Depending on the humidity the storms can vary from moderate to severe. Lately, it's more severe storms with hail and strong winds.

Maybe not but there's proof it has been done in Dubai as per fact checker online. High above the Dubai desert, manned aircraft are firing chemicals into the clouds in an attempt to enhance the country’s rainfall. The project was credited with causing a monsoon-like downpour in the drought-stricken United Arab Emirates this week. They did seeding and it rained so much that all the streets flooded and the water levels rose high. The reason they did it is to test Dubai's drainage systems. They called it a storm dump.

Maybe it's all conspiracy I don't know, still, with all the technology out there and mad scientists itching to test their creations, anything is possible.😊

@DracoTarot So long as those are good birds (not loud or harmful for crops, I mean), this would probably be fine?

Hmm, back here we're entering Winter now, so the weather is somewhat milder. The season of storms was when Summer clashed with Autumn.

Ah, I read about that. It is different from Project STORMFURY in the sense that they wanted to cause rain rather than prevent storms. But I thought that for cloud seeding, you needed actual clouds? As in, you can seed clouds and try to make them rain with that technology, but you could not cause rain if the sky is clear?
