Hello Legion Gamers!

This is not a promotion per se, but more of a notice that Sega is planning to remove some of their classic games from Steam on the 6th of December. So if you wanted to grab one of them, there is only a month left to do it.

Here is a list of all games that will be removed from Steam

Though this may not be as drastic as all that, some gamers suggested that Sega may be preparing to release compilations of their classic games later on and this is the reason behind this decision. Still, it did fuel some discussion about the importance of the physical media.

And Golden Axe may get a bit of a renaissance when the animated series that Comedy Central is working on comes out, which is another reason to remove it and make a compilation when that happens. Gotta strike the iron while it's hot!

It's very sad, and now I see that they're all DLCs of the "SEGA Mega Drive & Genesis Classics" on Steam and I also see that I have games that have already been delisted, like the 3 first the Sonic games THIS is terrible news. And yes the physical is very important for gamers, and unless we have stores like GoG with DRM-less games, that we can download and burn them or store on a NAS and or Cloud drive, we will lose a lot of games unfortunately

@GoLLuM13 Oh my, they are moving fast... One may hope they will release them again, though, but still, it is a curious practice to resell games over again in a different "package". Though I do not think we will lose the games we already bought from that list, at least, not yet.

Still, the discussion about physical copies and legal intricacies of the game ownership has been gaining momentum lately, especially after that quote from Ubisoft. I guess we now got a hint of where Sega may stand on the subject.

@miskkie It's not ideal, yeah... You have just over a month to decide if Gunstar Heroes is worth it. What about it made you want to get it?

Played it a ton when I was younger. Very fun game.

@miskkie Nice, could be nostalgic for you then. Out of all of the games on the list, I only played Golden Axe on PC back in the 1990s. And I played Crazy Taxi in an arcade a few times.
