It should have been my first AC, but bad news for fans: Assassin's Creed Shadows has been postponed yet again. Ubisoft's future blockbuster is now scheduled for March 20, 2025.

I've never played an AC before, but this one's been tempting me for months ...

"This additional time will allow the team to integrate the feedback received from players over the past three months and will help create the best conditions for launch by continuing to rely on the incredibly positive Assassin's Creed community," says Ubisoft.

It has to be said that they're playing for big stakes with Assassin's Creed Shadows, and I imagine they want to put the best chances on their side, whereas UBI had a flop with Star Wars Outlaws.

PS: I don't like the term failure: the game is good and has sold over a million copies and will eventually be profitable in the long term. But the shareholders/investors wanted to be billionaires with it... result: 20% stock market collapse. It's not the game that's the problem, but the business around it.

Getting back to AC: Ubisoft's president reiterates that the goal is to create "the best Assassin's Creed" possible. If the title is well received, both by the press and by gamers, then the French firm can certainly take a deep breath.

Business model first: The date of March 20, 2025 remains in the current fiscal year (which ends on March 31). And here's the idea: push back this final cartridge/swallow/manipulation/optimization (use whatever word you like, depending on whether you're a big rager or not 😂 ) until the last possible moment to make it as strong as possible. All this to end the year on an excellent financial note over the 10 short days of marketing.

Nevertheless, Ubisoft runs the risk of suffering another slap in the face when the stock market opens on January 10. BUT!!! let's not forget that the Chinese from Tencent are caressing their inner thighs to drive up the share price in order to buy out the French - uhh sorry - the French company, at the best possible price, even if it means sacrificing investors.

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to playing ACShadow!

@ramax The development of this particular game has been...eventful. So the end result will be curious to see.

But if you want to start playing AC games, why not go for Assassin's Creed Odyssey or, better yet, Ezio Auditore's "trilogy" from earlier? Those two are arguably the best in the franchise and will likely be something to measure Shadows against.

@ramax Origins is decent too, but out of the two Odyssey is more vibrant. Ezio Auditore has the best story though.

Will it actually be polished at launch after all the delays?
    Might be good if so.

I'm really excited for this one too! I watched their live stream gameplay showcase and I really like that the small character can run faster. I played all of the assassins creed games, and in the last one the character felt pretty slow when she ran, so I'm excited for this change.

@ramax and @andraz201 here is a bit of an update: they are making a collab with Attack on Titan:

Whatever will they think of next...
