The Steam Spring Sale is here!
I am sorry if I missed an existing post already, looked at a few places and couldn't see it so I decided to create my own!

I am trying to decide which game to pick up between Song of Nunu: A Leage of Legends Story (-70%), Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos (-50%) and Bandle Tale: A League of Legends Story (-70%).

I had won some steam money through a Lurkit mission, but I don't want to spend it carelessly. Who knows when the steam wallet will get refilled next time. So I decided to seek advice! Have anyone here played any of these games, and which did you like? What did you hear people liked? One would think I am a big League of Legends fan by these picks perhaps, but I only played it for about 1 year with some friends a long, long time ago now. Now I mostly like these two because they seem cute & cozy.

What are you all looking at getting this sale?

@Telomina no, there was no post, thank you for making one! 😊

I'll just add the Steam video for the occasion with a quick overview of the famous games that they offer:

Can see a lot of decent choices, but for me, I already got all games that I wanted that have big discounts there, and I am otherwise all stocked up on games to go for small discounts, so I may sit this one out 😅 But hopefully someone else finds something good. Doom and Spiritfarer are both on a very nice offer, for example.

As for your conundrum, I have not played any of those, but I would go with Song of Nunu. It has a higher overall score, and while two other choices are mainly simulators, SoN is an adventure with the story, which I like better (and, those games do not drag as long as simulators do, too 😅). So I'd go with that one. 😊

I had won some steam money through a Lurkit mission

    What mission was that?

thank you, yes it did seem like a lovely story adventure game. Might just get it to enjoy on a weekend where I'm not making any content.

To be honest, I can't remember exactly what the mission was. But the Lurkit Creator Program has some different fun missions at times, where we can get different rewards. Another time I got a beanie with a logo I could pick myself, just for showing the beanie and talking about it on stream (and per swedish laws we have to be honest with sponsored content, and Lurkit is Swedish, so it's not like I was told to recommend it. We just needed to share our thoughts on the process of ordering it and quality). Lurkit collaborate with different companies to create these missions. It's great fun!

@DoctorEldritch I am still waiting for Summer Sale and Gamesplanet to get the best deals. It is still a steam key you get.

@Telomina speaking of other games that you may enjoy when not making any content (or even when making it), I Kappa Bits are finally bringing Pixelshire to Early Access in May:

They were originally planning to do it back in 2023, but even the best-laid plans change 😥 But they are promising the wait will be worth it: the game is a farming sim like Stardew Valley, but with more freedom of world-building, as you can reshape the landscape and build houses for NPCs and such. If this is something you'd like to try, you can keep an eye on it, who knows, they may have some early access offers as the date draws near.

Ah, I see. But from what I gather, only companies or content creators can take part in the missions?

@ChristianRasmussen Hopefully Summer will be a harvestfull one then 😊 Though to me, it seems that the Winter Sale is the biggest one of the year, in combo with EGS free games every day over the winter holiday season. But I hope that you will see something you'll want to grab in Summer too 😉

@DoctorEldritch I am talking %-vise, biggest saving is normally the Summer sale, where the Winter just has same % as the Summer before.

@ChristianRasmussen That checks out. Though i am not sure if Summer or Winter is when people play more. Summer probably offers more free time, but it is a good time for outdoors, whereas Winter is good for staying indoors, but there is not as much free time and holidays are packed in with winter celebrations and the like...

How do you usually use sales? For example, I tend not to browse them, I have a list of games that I want to play, and when a sale comes, I check if any of them are on a good offer. But I do not usually search around the sale offers too much looking for something that I may want to get spontaneously. But some people I know enjoy spontaneous game shopping like that, within a set budget.

@DoctorEldritch as I have said before, I look a lot at Gameplay on twitch and youtube, to see if it is a game that I like. Then I take part in Giveaways of I can find any with the games I like or I might try them out with Game Pass. Finally I might pick them up at sales, much like you described. I know what I want and go for it.

@DoctorEldritch Ah yes. The companies can create the missions together with Lurkit. And then the creators who are in the Lurkit Creator Program can accept to do them if they want to. But yes of course I want to, who doesn't want a free hat with your own logo? :D

@DoctorEldritch I am not sure what I think about this game yet. I'm a bit over "smoll pixel games", like if they give me pixels, I want fancy pixels with hair sway :D
