    I’ve started playing The Witcher 3 a few days ago and I’m loving it so far, I’m an area completist in almost every open world game I play (that I care about) and always try discover every fast travel point, get every hidden treasure chest, guarded chest, etc.

    I’m playing on Blood and Broken Bones and finding it somewhat difficult. I’m forcing myself to be patient and play defensive, all while using bombs, signs, potions/decoctions, food, and also reading the weaknesses of each mob that I face yet to give myself every advantage I can have. I still die a little more than I’d like and it’s coming down to my gear; my weapons feel like they’re tickling the mobs.

    Is there any builds I should try lean into (Currently level 12)? I don’t like how every point I spend in Character has to be really meaningful due to me not being able to just revert the points, and try new builds or things out that I think would work.

    Thank you for taking the time to read this!

    I wish I could be of help, but sadly I played Witcher 3 on the lower difficulties, and boy, Geralt was OP in it. Are you still in White Orchard, or have you left it?

    Alchemy mixed with signs is pretty op.

    @ZaidH I have yes! I’ve finished Baron’s quest line and am going to see Triss the next time I play (one of the main quests objective). I just don’t understand if I need to turn down the difficulty or get used to this toughness that I’be only expected from the many soulsborne games I’ve played.

    Appreciate the reply nonetheless bro!

    @w0lfix93 I’m stubborn on playing on high/higher difficulties because I don’t like mindlessly running through games, sadly that just gets boring to me. I’ll definitely try use more signs than just Quen and try get ingredients for more potions. Thanks!

    @watchdog Oh wow, I remember that part being very difficult. Kudos to you for finishing it on such a high difficulty. I’d say reduce the difficulty if you start getting bored, but it seems like you enjoy the challenge. Maybe try installing mods to improve the parts you find boring or repetitive?

    @ZaidH Here’s my update on this (48 Hours in) ;

    I learned about Witcher armour sets and being able to not only upgrade but also place mutagens in my character slots so they’re tailored towards my play style and I honestly haven’t died at all now. Have decent armour as well as damage stats. I’m using the full Griffin set with the swords too. I’ve upgraded them to Enhanced and waiting to find the Superior diagrams for them.

    Same thing with being able to place Glyphs/Runestones on weapons and amor, I’ve tailored them to my play style.

    Done a lot of witcher contracts too against some pretty strong foes to get my money up to be able to afford the materials for building the witcher armor sets. Fighting has also made me take time in understanding timings of dodging perfectly, and I’ve mastered it to be done every time against almost all mobs that I’ve faced up until this point.

    Currently level 20 and still hanging around Novigrad (still have a few quests and contracts to do) but have unlocked Skellige and will be going there soon.

    Truly enjoying this game so thank you for the help! I’ve also installed a few mods but they’re honestly all quality of life mods such as Improved Horse Control, Map all Quest Objective, More Money for Traders, and no intro storybook!

    Tldr ; I understand the game now.
