    Dear Legion Community Members,
After months of anticipation and leaks, the Battlefield 6 Multiplayer mode has finally been revealed in an exciting live event broadcast from Los Angeles. Here's comprehensive coverage of everything announced in this historic event.

    Live Event Details

EA hosted the live reveal event in Los Angeles with simultaneous events in London, Paris, and Berlin, plus an additional event in Hong Kong over the weekend. The event featured hundreds of content creators and fans witnessing the first live gameplay demonstrations.

Back to Roots: Classic Class System

The most significant announcement was the return of the classic class system with four main classes:

    • Assault
    • Engineer
    • Support
    • Recon
Each class offers different weapons, tools, and abilities, restoring the tactical balance missing since Battlefield 2042.

    New Maps and Game Modes

    Nine Diverse Maps

Battlefield 6 will launch with nine multiplayer maps taking players from Egypt to Brooklyn and Tajikistan. One standout map is "Siege of Cairo" which was showcased during the live event.
Another featured map is "Empire State" offering multi-story battles inside a building under construction. The return of the classic "Operation Firestorm" map from Battlefield 3 was also confirmed.

    Diverse Game Modes

Battlefield 6 includes a comprehensive suite of game modes:
    Major Classic Modes:

    • Conquest - The iconic point control mode
    • Breakthrough - Intense battles
    • Rush - The fan-favorite mode
    Fast-Paced Intense Modes:

    • Team Deathmatch and Squad Deathmatch
    • Domination and King of the Hill
    • Escalation - A completely new mode

    Revolutionary Tactical Destruction System

Battlefield 6 introduces the Tactical Destruction System allowing players to destroy their environment for strategic advantage. Players can turn vehicles into wrecking balls, bury squads under ceilings, or create new paths to victory.

    Enhanced Kinesthetic Combat System

The game features a new Kinesthetic Combat System making players more connected to their soldier and environment than ever before. The system includes:

    • Improved shooting mechanics
    • Enhanced tactical movement
    • From curved running to dragging and reviving

    Open Beta Schedule

Three testing periods were confirmed for August:

    1. August 7-8: Early access for Battlefield Labs members only
    2. August 9-10: Open beta for everyone
    3. August 14-17: Extended open beta period for everyone

    Return to Realism

Unlike Battlefield 2042, Battlefield 6 focuses on returning to roots with:

    • 64-player lobbies instead of 128
    • Removal of tactical sprint for slower, more tactical pacing
    • Improved climbing and jumping with immediate feedback

    System Requirements and Availability

The game will be available on Steam without requiring EA app, with reasonable system requirements. Base price will be $70 for the standard edition, without scary price increases.

    Release Date

Battlefield 6's release was confirmed for October 10, 2025, giving teams sufficient time to refine the game based on beta feedback.

    Enhanced Portal Mode

Battlefield Portal returns with greater capabilities allowing players to:

    • Create custom experiences
    • Full environmental control by moving, scaling, and duplicating objects
    • Create new game modes with custom UI

    Initial Reactions

Early previews suggest Battlefield 6 might be "the normal game we desperately need" after years of identity crisis in the series. Focus on small but impactful improvements promises a more focused and classic Battlefield experience.

    Conclusion

The Battlefield 6 multiplayer live reveal showcased a genuine return to the series' roots with modern improvements. From the classic class system to innovative tactical destruction, the game appears to have learned from 2042's mistakes and seeks to restore community trust.
With upcoming beta periods in August, players will get a chance to experience these improvements firsthand before the official October launch.
What do you think about the new changes? Do you believe the return of the class system will solve the series' problems? Share your expectations for the upcoming beta period!

@JokerZida I think they are planning the first closed beta later this week, 7-8 August, and two open ones may be planned for later this month. And the client could even be available for the download, though right now it can only take you as far as the menu. Then again, I am not well-versed in beta testing, so I may be getting it wrong, @Telomina and @GoLLuM13 are better at this sort of thing.

@Telomina I heard that you can too, but I think it may not actually let you play yet, just check out the game menu. But your friends would know best, it's just what I heard.

Another thing I heard is that there may be a chance to get codes for this testing yet, for those who want it. There are instructions here. And there may be two open betas Aug. 9–10 and Aug. 14–17:

@tntiseverywere Me too, actually 😅 Not about playing Battlefield 1, I haven't played any in this series, but about having a vacation soon. There are two open betas ahead, though, in case you want and have time to give it a go later this month 😊

@DoctorEldritch Oh yes, that's what I meant. You can "pre-load" but the beta is just open during the weekend.

@Telomina There are more open betas coming up, so if you preload it now, I guess you get to try the actual game later, even if not this weekend, then maybe one of the later ones?
