“Embrace the night... or be consumed by it.”

Hey creatures of the night 🦇

Let’s sink our teeth into one of this year’s most intriguing releases, Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines 2.

This game had quite the wild journey before seeing the light of day.
In 2019, Hardsuit Labs began development with a 2020 release in mind, but multiple delays and disagreements with Paradox Interactive led to the team being replaced.

Fast forward to 2023, when The Chinese Room (known for Still Wakes The Deep and Amnesia A Machine for Pigs) took over. They reused a few ideas from the previous build, but most of the current version was completely rebuilt from scratch.

After more than six years of waiting, and remembering that the original Bloodlines came out in 2004, the sequel finally arrived earlier this month.

    So… how’s it doing?
Steam reviews are mixed. Some players mention rough performance and shallow RPG mechanics, while others love the story, atmosphere, and the twist of playing as an ancient vampire instead of a newly turned one.

Overall, it feels more like a first person narrative experience than a full RPG, but maybe that’s exactly what makes it unique.

Would you still give it a try despite the mixed reviews?

@UnapologeticDino I've seen this game constantly pop up in the discover page on epic games, havent paid much attention to it yet but i think this would be worth a shot as soon as i have a device to play on again, you know how reviews some times are completely irrelevant to your experience of the game, i feel like that with certain games and this should be no different.

Yeah I’d definitely give it a try.The story and vibe look awesome, even if the gameplay could use some improvement. I’ve been waiting ages for a game that takes us back to the vampire world 🧛🦇.

It's not really a sequel to Bloodlines, but it is a really great Vampire game. Great story, interesting characters, fun combat.

@UnapologeticDino Not really, it doesn't fall under the game genres I enjoy
