    Hello Legion Gamers!

Just so happens that I got two games referencing Stardew Valley in my newsfeed, and I thought I'd share, for those who like Stardew Valley-type games. @Telomina I thought of you, maybe you know these 😊

The first one just got released today, it is called Sunset Sprout:

It promises vibrant retro graphics with relaxing gameplay, and from a glance, it does look a lot like Stardew Valley indeed, if somewhat more simplistic (retro indeed 😅)

Even the story premise is similar: the main character, fed up with a 9-5 work routine, decides to become a farmer and sells almost all of his possessions to buy an island to do that on. As a simulator, the game has a usual mix of activities, like cooking, planting, decorating and interacting with NPCs. The developers themselves mentioned the game should be enjoyable for Stardew Valley fans.

This is the game that is out now.

Now, as for the future, some of you may remember Mr. Podunkian. He is a developer who worked on updates 1.4 and 1.5 of Stardew Valley. He has since been using that experience to make his own game, Sunkissed City.

This is a trailer from 2 years ago. Does look very similar to Stardew Valley indeed, though one of the main differences may be that Mr. Podunkian tries to build a proper city in the game (hence the name) rather than a small Pelican Town from Stardew Valley.

The game was planned for release in 2024, but got postponed to 2024, and now again:

But it is something else to look forward to for Stardew Valley fans. Know any other games that would fit this vibe?

Hmmm, I actually haven't heard of these. Now I am wondering why.

@Telomina There's just so many games being released or announced these days, keeping an eye on all of them can be a challenge. I'm sure I miss some good ones myself as they slip through the cracks...

Here are a couple of more games you may like that recently caught my attention, for your perusal:

This one is out in Early Access now, City Tales — Medieval Era:

It will have a district-based city-building mechanic, similar to Sklines, I guess. What I like about it is that it looks peaceful and nice, like those old Bavarian cities in dioramas. I like that style. Maybe you'd enjoy it too. Full release is planned for the end of January. I am guessing they want to get ahead of Town to City later in Spring or Summer, not to compete with it for the spotlight, as they play on the same field.

And the second one is not released even in Early Access yet, it's Escape from Tarkov Ever After:

This one will also be released at the end of January. Here I like fairy tale deconstruction and (hopefully) astute social commentary. The Outer Worlds 2 left some to be desired there, from what I gather, their social commentary may have been rather...toothless?...this time, so I am hoping this game will be more daring there. We'll see.

Have you heard about any of these?

@Telomina And here is one more you may like, I thought. Animalkind:

Corgies in mechasuits! No release date yet, but it just got a free demo on Steam.

Ok, so, i saw I had actually denied one of the games you shared above. With my surgery recovery and all I need to be extremely picky and if I already have a couple of games in a similar style, I will skip them.

I am super curious about animalkind however and will download the demo:D

I was an official co streamer for the pc gaming show yesterday, and I was super sleepy. But I am very hype over these 3 games they showed: Starsand Island, 007 First Light and Tamer Town!

@Telomina That's fair, if I played everything I thought was curious to try, I'd never leave my room. These days, a skill to critically "trim" game lists is becoming more vital, I find myself thinking. Good on you to be able to do that. I sometimes struggle with it still.

    Have fun with Animalkind!

Oh, thank you for reminding me, I wanted to post about it! Is there a link for that? I don't think I've seen that video on your YouTube Channel yet.

@DoctorEldritch I did actually not share it on YouTube, just twitch. I have a link indeed. Telominas super awesome but extremely tired- gaming show case (started after DDLV).

I have a lot of upgrades since I shared something here last time. New camera and mic!

@Telomina Ah, thank you! I'll make a post and link them together then 😊

Congratulations on the new gear! I was thinking about getting something new this Black Friday, too, but all I ended up with is some kitchen appliances and utensils instead 😅 I may not be better equipped for gaming, but now I can do baking better.

@DoctorEldritch do tag me if you share any baking! I can't bake too much, or I could bake healthily (but honestly where is the fun in that), so only thing I baked since my last rounds of scones last month were these banana muffins since I cant eat brown spotted bananas raw anymore.Name: 20251204_074246.jpg

@Telomina And again about free demos, today seems to be a bountyful day for those, for some reason. Ardenfall just got one as well. This one is a bit like The Elder Scrolls, but with simpler graphics:
