Are you guys worried about the layoffs and studios closing?

Discussion
This seems pretty concerning to me that so many studios working for Sony and Xbox are being destroyed right now with layoffs. We may start seeing a large decline in game quality and some of our favorite projects/games shelved. Halo for example was an emotional hit for us since we have loved the franchise as a family for 2 decades. But there's a lot of other stuff we look forward to also. What do you think is driving the layoffs, if not just the astronomical cost of producing games that rival blockbuster movies?

Gaming does wonders for the mind!

I do IT work for a assisted living centre sometimes. Recently, the centre started limiting TV screentime to 1.2hrs a day and instead bought game systems like PS5s, Wiis, Nintendo Switches, and even Legion Go 2s for the seniors to use. The goal was to stimulate the seniors minds and encourage them to be more active. There was some resistance at first and one resident even jumped out of her 2nd floor window after being told she could not watch NCIS all day but with some gentle guidance many of the seniors started to learn how game. The results? The seniors that play video games are happier, more fit, and do better on the cognitive test! The in-house doctor was amazed by the results.
