GTA VI Pricing
Gaming is a luxary tjat privileged people can experience.
What's your thought of pricing GTA6 standard edition for around 80 USD and 100 USD for the ultimate edition?
You are absolutely correct. Gaming is a hobby of privilege. It's not just the cost of the game, but the setup required to play it properly, and the time available to invest.
It makes sense in these niche case. The game usually is playable with decent hype for many years. I just hope it's not used as an excuse to raise prices across the board.
What is everyone looking forward to?
Aside from the obvious answer of GTA6 what game/s are you looking forward to either this year or next?
I want to say the OoT remake, but I don't have a switch 2 and won't be buying one.
Favorite Games to play on non-gaming work or school laptop PC's
I know everyone has a crap laptop PC that gets used for school or work and thus is with us all of the time. I would like to know what everyone plays in the way games on these low-powered machines for grins while NOT working on school or job related matters. List your top two or three games.
Can my laptop run indie games
I currently have an Ideapad 5 with Intel XE graphics. I enjoy playing a variety of indie games and they run fine. I recently found out about this website 'Can You Run It' and when I searched those games on it, it said my system couldn't handle them. Some examples of games I have played are Shovel Knight, Hollow Knight, Dredge. Am I destroying my laptop by playing them or is the website giving me a rough estimate?
YOUR DEVICE IS NOT DESTROYING ITSELF. and device has safety and will not force harm itself. if it can run it, it can run it.
Looking to upgrade from Lenovo Legion 5 Pro (2021; 16")
I've had my laptop for about 5 years now and it's kick tailed all this time but I would like to get ahead of the curb upgrading my device at my leisure before it becomes a necessity. - That said, is there any device you guys would recommend? I love my Lenovo Legion so I was curious if the most recent ones are worth sticking with?
If it meets your current gaming requirements, I may stick with it until computer hardware normalizes again. Right now, prices are insane for things like RAM, CPUs, and GPUs. I do quotes for my users at work, and we get a very hefty discount on enterprise-grade laptops, and they have increased by around $600 since January. Last I heard, they think prices should level out more in 2027 but who knows. Hopefully, this is the case.
What are the hardware specs on your current laptop? That model shows it could be a 3050 up to a 3070
How many monitors do you prefer in your setup and why?
Hey guys!
Hope you are all doing well, I absolutely love how 2.0 looks right now and can not wait to see what comes in the future.
So how many monitors do you guys use for your setup, Why do you use the number of monitors?
For me, I have a 3 monitor setup (well 2 monitors and a laptop) I prefer 2 mainly because I have more space around my desk.
I use 3 monitors to work, develop games (which I have yet to do during covid xD), and ofc playing games and watching streams.
What about you? ^.^
I am very tempted to purchase a separate portable monitor and mount it somehow on my laptop. standalone or use it as a standalone display for my IdeaPad5, which is currently not running at the moment.
Good to see you are using an extra cooling pad it would give you more better heat management. Overall a nice portable gaming setup.
Desktop or Laptop? How to choose a new device.
What are your thoughts on the age old question: "Should I get a desktop or a laptop"?
Each group has it's own benefits and drawbacks. I have included my thoughts below on the pros of each to hopefully help you make the right decision for your circumstances.
Laptop:
Portability - If you plan to be super mobile, than a laptop is a clear choice. Taking it to classes, a friends house, or just finding different cozy locations at home. If portability is key for you then go with a laptop.
Workload - If you are doing a light workload or don't plan on multitasking, than a laptop can be a good option as well. By utilizing a docking station, it is also possible to have a home base with a multi display setup when needed.
Desktop:
Cost - As a general rule of thumb, if a desktop and laptop have the same specs, the desktop will be cheaper. Desktops (especially home built ones) also typically come with longer warranty periods on the individual items. Some items can even extend out to 10 years. Finally, desktops can be upgraded easier than laptops. Down the line if you want a new GPU, then the swap out CAN be simple. You just have to keep upgrades in mine when building to future proof your desktop.
Customization - When building a desktop, nearly everything can be customized. From the case size/shape, to individual components, to having everything RGB. Desktops offer an almost choice paralyzing amount of options when going with a new build. Don't fret though, there are many sites and services to help you be able to built your own unique setup.
Durability - It has been my experience that desktops tend to last longer. Being stationary certainly helps with any of the accidental drops that a laptop may experience, but even the little things like increased air flow help extend longevity here. I also am a firm believer that the excess space helps because laptop parts often make sacrifices to reduce size and allow for mobility.
While there are certainly exceptions to every rule, the above are just my thoughts on the subject. If you are in the market for a new device and haven't made your decision on which route to proceed down, then i hope this helps you out! I am also interested in what thoughts and comments other will have. Please leave them below!
I think if you're asking that kind of question you're thinking about it wrong. If you can use a desktop, use a desktop. If you can afford an equivalent laptop and need laptop features, then get a laptop.
I have done previously, it's not quite as stable as Fedora and you can enable the same extras in base Fedora anyway extremely easily. I'd use Bazzite instead if I wanted to use something Fedora based that's game and media consumption centric
Steam Machine
What are everyone's thoughts about the upcoming release. I'm between getting it and building a PC. I like the small form factor and low entry cost to be able to have more power to run my games more immediately and will ultimately build a very high end PC
Yeah youre better off building a PC than paying nearly or around $1k for the Steam Machine especially when according to reports that this will be mid spec. I mean look at the Steam Deck's current price, the proof is in the pudding.
I too would like a Steam Machine, it wouldnt be a Day 1 buy if we werent going through the current crisis the tech world is dealing with. I still would like the Frame.
My biggest issue is that "verified" means it runs at 30fps at 1080P. I know others say they don't notice, but faster-paced games are terrible at that low of FPS. I've tried playing some games, but the experience isn't great. I've totally ignored many games because they played so badly when I had the SD. After getting a Legion Go, some games were a little better, like 45 FPS, which did make some games playable, but it still wasn't great. That would be my biggest worry when purchasing: just how well will it run newer games? I think 30 fps is a better requirement for a handheld, but I don't like that idea for a gaming computer.

Is Marathon really dying?
Hi everyone,
I am a big fan of the game Marathon - I have no difficulty finding matches. Online discourse just seems very doom and gloom.
Love to hear your thoughts 🙂
BW,
JB
Yes, destiny 2 will have more players when the new updates arrives on the 9th. Bungie failed yet again.
Whilst i wouldn't go so far as saying its dying, it's definitely not delivering on the investment they put into it.
Whats the best controller brand for pc gaming?
I've used a x box elite controller for years now and swear by it.
I used an Xbox 360 controller for years. It worked great and had no issues with it. Then last year I got an Elite Series 2 controller for free and love it. I mostly use a mouse and keyboard, but there are certain games that are much better with a controller.
Any suggestions for fun mods for Stardew Valley?
I haven't tried any so just looking for some suggestions of fun mods?
Thank you!
Stardew Valley Expanded adds a bunch of new content that really breathes a lot of life into the game if you want a fresh experience. Better friendship and villager map locations are great QoL, more rings is fun to be op with combat. There are a lot of aesthetic mods that make it look beautiful, I downloaded a mod pack that was witchy vibes but I've seen others
Air or Liquid Cooling?
Nowe\ that liquid cooling has become so much easier and more available with AIO's, what reason is there to use air cooling other than budget constraints?
my pc has been running on water cooling for over 13 years but remember to clean out your fans every 6months or so as lot of dust gets into a pc
Well my air-cooled PCs are quieter than my AIO cooled PC, so I prefer air cooled because of that. No pump noise, less to go wrong really. So if you can get a large enough dual-fan air cooler (and dual heatpipe stack if necessary) depending on the TDP of the CPU) which fits instead of an AIO it's worth it
Your Thoughts. Will Duke Nukem or Commander Keen make a come back first?
Will Duke Nukem or Commander Keen make a come back first?
I honestly do think Duke Nukem will make an attempt to return. Because as much of catastrophe as it was, Duke Nuke Forever did become one of the most infamous video games ever. I feel like Gearbox will try to pull something eventually. Now whether what is created will be anything good is nothing altogether.
As for Commander Keen, ehhh maybe. But I wouldn't be betting on it either. But more surprising game revivals have happened. I mean if Bubsy can somehow return from the grave, anything is possible lol.
opinnion on rtx5050 for cheap?
I managed to get brand new rtx 5050 for cheap. I see constsntly people talking how bad it is but ss far as i know its mostly just that usually the value isnt great. Since i got it for cheap, should i be happy or is it a bad card?
Depends on how cheap you got it. It's the entry-level card meant for 1080p gaming. You'll be able to play any game that is currently out, but you shouldn't expect to run them at the high settings.
People don't like this card since the MSRP is too high compared to other cards. But if you got it on sale, then don't feel bad. It's still a W cause a new GPU is still better than no GPU.

Legion Space Lighting Theme
Did Lenovo ever release an updated lighting theme like the one depicted in the marketing for the Gen10 towers? (see pic) I kinda like the purple/red hue look of it. All I see is the generic rainbow spiral when I check in Legion Space.
Eh it's hard to pinpoint the exact game specifically. I had a Nintendo 64 that my we all played that I believe my father bought. We had a GameCube and Gameboy advance as well. This is all pre 2007 before we got other consoles. I used to play flash games on the old Macintosh computer we used to have on Miniclip.com and other action game websites. Even earlier though, there was a very low end windows computer I believe I had trying to play games on it well. Like Pirate's of the Carribean online, Toontown, and this Fushion Fall cartoon network game. I used to play Farmville on facebook's website a lot when that was sort of popular. My earliest gaming memories are when I was around 5 years old.
Getting the most bang for your buck in a PC build
Given the current prices of tech products, if you were to build a gaming PC from scratch, what components would you choose? In this build, you need to maximize value, but also make sure that it can run the top games of today.
I think the only unique thing I would do is use Intel Arc as a GPU instead of going with AMD or NVIDIA. Intel offers the cheapest possible GPU to run games at 1080/1440. You can save up to a couple of hundred here and mitigate the rising cost of RAM and storage.
Honestly, right now I would say that the premise is wrong. For the most bang for your buck, you will have to go for a pre-built. Companies have better rates for RAM and storage, so in 2026, pre-built will be cheaper than DIY.
If I was seeking to get the best bang for my buck these days, I would look into a prebuilt. It used to be the case that choosing your own components could save you a good bit if you were a smart shopper and bought during sales. However now, you're seeing prebuilts that are cheaper than buying components seperately - especially the GPU, SSD, and RAM!
The MMO genre is not dead, but it has experienced a noticeable change in popularity. Many players are shifting towards shorter, less time-consuming gaming experiences, which poses challenges for new MMOs trying to attract a dedicated player base.
Final Fantasy XIV is as popular as ever, and getting another expansion. I think it's fair to say that NEW MMOs are DoA, tho. Just hard to get marketshare in an era where pick up and play is much more sustainable
