What games do you remember and why?.
My first game was "Ну, Погоди!" on Electronics. In the late 80s, it was just "wow"! Then came the computer and it's the game "Prince of Persia"
Wow, I'm really curious about that first game - that's gotta be like an artifact nowadays, haha.
I think my first game might have been Warcraft II, or definitely something right around the time it came out. I just remember being obsessed with Warcraft II as a kid.
I think my first game was on the NES of my uncle's. It was either Mario bros/duck hunt, Super Mario bros. 3 or Solomon's Key.
God Solomon's Key was horrible. Don't think I ever cleared either Marios til ai got my own SNES and it came with Super Mario All Stars + Super Mario World. I remember having a cleared file on every game (lost levels was a ***), in the middle of playing another SMB3 run and lightening knocked off the power and wiped all my saves on every Mario. Gutted didn't even cover it lmao
Generals Command and Conquer, it was my first RTS game and absolutely loved it when I was young, used to spend hours redoing campaign missions and in custom skirmish battles. This was before youtube I think so I had to figure everything out myself and reading guides. Soundtrack still hits!
One of the earliest games I played was Impossible Mission on the Commodore 64 almost 40 years ago. Some even say that the movie franchise of the same name was inspired by this game, as it was released years before the movies. Anyway, it was a game that was way ahead of its time, and I was just blown away by how good it was.
