Game Pass Ultimate conversion and the future of Gold

A recent change to the conversion ratio from 1:1 to 3:2 Gold to Ultimate means that 3 years of gold will get you 2 years of ultimate. Still good value with the recent price hikes of the per month cost for ultimate and the changes to Gold to Game Pass Core on September 14th, 2023 its worth getting in your next two years ultimate ahead of the change disrupting this cheaper way of subscribing.

  • Been waiting for this since they announced ultimate pass and the gold games have not been that great. But the ultimate pass is so worth it. Pc, Xbox and cloud gaming.

  • Worthwhile letting people know about these changes, particularly the Gold to Core change. The Ultimate pass is so worth it in my opinion. I used to hang around for Humble Bundle bargains whilst waiting for any AAA games I wanted to go on offer on Steam or something similar. This would result in me either buying nothing or spending too much on sale stuff just because it was cheap at the time. But since getting Ultimate I don't feel the need to splash out on sales and I feel like I've got a lot of access to a wide range of games which I can play on a range of devices, which suits my needs just fine.

The only thing I don't get from looking at that announcement is what the point of Core is against the Console pass. Console is only $1 more per month and seems to offer a lot more in terms of game choice. I wouldn't really say something that's less than 10% cheaper than the "standard" option has a strong "budget" price appeal. Or am I missing something?
