Which is your fav? What are you looking forward to? Have you played the Chant?
It doesn't have zombies, but The Long Dark definitely is my favorite survival game. In a strange way, the game feels very peaceful, and has such beautiful nature that's fun to explore. And, I actually really enjoyed that it has a story mode, which is relatively uncommon in this genre. I just hope they finish making the story in not-too-long.
I have a few favorites that I would like to mention. In the Zombie genre, Resident Evil 2 Remake, Evil Within, and Dying Light are absolute gems and have replayed multiple times and it never gets stale. In the post-apocalyptic survival genre, Fallout New Vegas, Fallout 4, Control and the Metro series are on the top of my list. Although not post-apocalyptic, I really enjoyed Subnautica as a survival game. I have not played The Chant but something about it really intrigues me. I am a huge fan of anything horror but am very careful with what I buy when it comes to horror games. Horror games always look great to me but either wind up being really stale and bad or really good. There is like no middle ground it seems. I think this is because there are a lot of horror games that have low budgets and rely on cheap jump scares rather than fleshed out horror stories and atmospheres.
There's plenty I haven't tried but I played the hell out of Left 4 Dead 2 with friends in community-created campaign maps. Definitely one of the best experiences I've ever had gaming. On the survival side, it has its flaws but I rather enjoyed The Flame in the Flood. I would like to check out some other wilderness survival games, especially something in a snowy landscape like The Long Dark, The Wild Eight, or The Red Lantern.
