Snapdragon X in a gaming laptop?

The first (real) ARM based windows laptops have been announced, including a few Lenovo Yogas. In a hypothetical world, if there were no compatibility issues with running games on ARM architecture, would you opt for a snapdragon X gaming laptop over an x86 laptop? I personally would give up a willing to give up a bit of gaming performance if I could get massive increases in battery life and also reducing heat generation across the board.

  • I think I'm going to wait it out. I don't think higher GPUs will be included in these laptops. Even so, GPUs consume the highest power. I'm still sticking to the thicker laptops over the thin and light as they're upgradable.

ARM has a good future as developers are both cross compiling. I would like to see where it goes.

  • Not for my main, and until I'm sure is all my games can run on it. I love competition as it make AMD and Intel work even harder, and also helps keep pricing competitive. I wish them well.
