Is League of Legends worth starting in 2023?

Hello,

I used to play League of Legends casually years ago and never got to be very good at it. This was mainly due to focusing more on other games. However, there were a lot of aspects of League that I really enjoyed. Fast forward to 2023 and League is still one of the most popular games out there. Do you feel it's worth starting up again and, if so, any tips/tricks for a beginner/returning player?

  • I was a HOTS-only Blizzard guy for the longest time with a LoL account sitting in the background that I never used. When they shut down HOTS, I swapped over. It was a bit of a learning curve, but there are so many youtube guides now and such. It's not that hard anymore to acclimate to the LoL system. Definitely look up some guides first and find out which role you prefer. I ended up a main support, because I hate CSing.

  • I mean any game is worth a poke, league was never my thing, tried it once got bored never picked it back up lol,  but never stopped hearing good things about it, i might give it ago again too! Lol .

And yes id suggest youtube guides always, just getting back into darkeat dungeon and them guides have saved meh booty lol

  • I would say no unless you want to do a lot of research and grinding to learn everything. Knowing the combos and counters to every character can be very challenging with that game.

  • If you don't have any new games to play, sure. Otherwise it's not worth it.

  • I was actually thinking the same thing LoL or even Dota 2 but it has been a very long time since that era lol

  • LOL, It all depends what kind of games you like.   Worth a try, or a visit to some youtube reviews.

  • I have never played.   Now after reading the comments, I understand why.   I hate games that require grinding to have fun.

  • Always loved the art style and character models but find "grind" in a game to be the exact opposite of why I play games in the first place.

  • I see no reason why you shouldn't resune playing after taking a break. I take frequent breaks from things myself. Life just gets in the way of things sometimes. It honeslty makes the games fee fresh, fun, but familiar. Take a break, go back, relearn and enjoy. You can use that philosophy on most things in life :-)

  • I tried but got bored of it quickly
