Storage questions about legion 7 slim laptop. 82K80001US

Ive had this laptop for about a year and am looking to upgrade the storage from 512gb ssd to 1,512 by adding a tb of storage. Before I buy the storage I just wanted to make sure that there is a extra slot. Thank you in advance!

  • I looked into it and it seems the laptop has an extra M.2 2280 slot.

  • i believe it has a second slot and make sure the faster drive is the boot drive

  • One quick piece of advice; always buy way more memory than you think you are going to need. Every year games get bigger and bigger and so do video files.

  • Thank you for this info

  • Looks like you can either add a second SSD, or Replace the existing one with a Larger one.

  • and 1tb storage can be used up fast if can get 2tb

  • According to the specifications listed on Lenovo's website for the Legion 7 Slim Laptop (82K80001US), it comes with a single M.2 2280 PCIe NVMe SSD storage slot. This means that you can replace the existing SSD with a larger capacity one, but you cannot add an additional drive for extra storage without removing the existing drive.

If you want to upgrade the storage from 512GB to 1TB, you will need to purchase a new M.2 2280 PCIe NVMe SSD with a capacity of 1TB and replace the existing SSD with it. You may want to consider using a professional technician to do the upgrade for you if you're not comfortable with doing it yourself.

  • Yes,there is an extra slot.  Get the fasest drive avasilable and make it the bootable drive.

  • Yeah be sure to use whatever faster drive as your boot. PNY makes okay ones, but obviously the Samsung Pros are the best.
