Gaming Monitors

Hello everyone I was wondering if anyone could please give me any recommendations for a gaming monitor 1080p 144hz. I do not want a TN panel as the colors are not so great preferably a IPS with a low response time. Thank you!

  • Well most gaming monitors should be either IPS or VA (mostly for curved panels) these days, though TN models still exist.  Make sure whatever you get supports VRR (FreeSync) and check reviews to make sure that functionality works well.  Something like the LG 24GN650-B should fit the bill though most manufacturers should offer something similar.

  • I really like my Lenovo Lenovo - Legion Y25-25 24.5" IPS LED FHD FreeSync and G-SYNC (copy/pasted from Best Buy, so no I am not a robot!)  Here are the specs:

    Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution

Expand your gaming performance in line with the power of your graphics card.

    1 ms response time

Delivers ultra-fast performance, minimizing lag and time-to-screen.

    240 Hz refresh rate

Delivers powerful performance so that you can get the most out of your games and videos.

    24.5" LCD monitor

Efficient screen type uses LEDs to provide precise backlighting to pixels.

    HDMI and DisplayPort inputs

Allow you to set up DVD players and other AV sources for a clear, high quality audio and video signal.

178° horizontal and vertical viewing angles

Allow you to view the screen from a wide range of angles.

    1000:1 contrast ratio

Ensures images are crisp and clear with deep blacks and bright highlights.

  • LG - UltraGear 24" IPS

.. hard to beat for price and specs
  • Personally I'm not sure I could go back to a 16:9 aspect ratio monitor after having gotten used to 16:10 for years. Having that extra vertical space to utilize is so nice with other applications outside of gaming, like web browsing, office programs or other productivity software, or basically anything that involves vertical scrolling.

  • I use a 55'' TCL TV works great for gaming.

  • Do not forget to check the color gamut and amount nits.

  • from what i understand 1ms reponse and 144 hz refresh is a good min starting point these days

  • Aways use big TV because, size sometimes is better than refresh rate.

  • "Starting point"????  Yikes!  But yeah, this monitor has 240hz refresh, so I think I'm good.

  • I don't know how you guys can pay attention to a screen that big!  LOL
