Best recent single player games

It has been some time since I was really hooked on a game that I couldn't just wait to play more and I'm looking for suggestions. For some background, I used to play multiplayer team shooters like Counter Strike, Natural Selection, CoD, but I no longer have the time to play those kinds of games and I've shifted to single player games. Lots of games with interesting stories, systems, RPG and/or action appeal to me, some strategy, survival, etc. as well. I've just not found any recent games that keep me coming back for more.

Please let me know your suggestions and why you like them.

Thanks!

  • I've recently gotten into Hitman World of Assassination (previously Hitman 3) that's fun as a single player game, they have a full story and a few extra game modes to experiment and play around in. No Man's Sky is a great game that has both single and multiplayer options, it has a lot of cool mechanics and just aspects that are fun to enjoy, you can get really pulled into the game as you play, the longer you're playing the harder it is to stop. Lastly I'd suggest looking at Travellers Rest, it's an older style game in a graphics sense, but it's a lot of fun and also relaxing to play and a great way to unwind.

  • Thanks for your thoughts and suggestions Cameron, I've only ever played the old original Hitman, so it may be fun to give the new one a try. No Man's Sky is always fun, I have played that a lot in the past, but I go through spurts where I'll play it all the time, and other times when I'll just take a break. I don't know that I've heard of Travellers Rest so I'll have to look that one up.
