Desktop to Laptop

My wife and I are looking to downsize, and I have a desktop PC currently that I am trying to sell. I would like to get a gaming laptop to play on occasionally, but also work from. What recommendations would you give for choosing the best fit?

  • Look at a Lenovo yoga series and find the one with the specs that fit your needs.

  • The Legion Slim is a great option for gaming and work especially with an AMD option for better battery life. It has a great 16 inch screen and great build quality.

  • I had a 17 inch Sony that was beautiful. The screen was crystal clear. My Asus gaming laptop was 15 inches and that was good too. Anything smaller than that is tablet size and harder for me to use. The keyboard is too cramped and it's usually flimsy and underpowered. MacBooks are 13 inches, but more expensive than a Windows PC with the same specs.

  • How long did your Sony last? Was it a Vaio?

  • The Lenovo yoga series is a very good choice. Always choose a larger screen size.

  • Get a large screen size and make sure you get it in the memory and drive spec you want as upgrading is pain.  I would also go above current needs in memory and drive size to ensure it lasts for awhile.

  • I WOULD SUGGEST A LENOVO YOGA LAPTOP.  THE OFFICIAL LENOVO WEBSITE HAS SOME GREAT SALES RIGHT NOW.

  • Get the i7 or equivalent level of CPU, i9 is too hot to handle in a laptop. For GPU go for whatever you can afford. I think 15" is a great size for portability and usability, if you want to game on larger screen just use an external monitor.

  • The laptop is a good option for Saving space on your desk.

  • I see people recommending Yoga or Slim, but I would avoid those two. What you want is a Legion. Try to get the upgradable one and the "i" model.
