Top three video game consoles since the year 2000? PCs don't count!

Hi all!

Here we go again with a wonderful question: what are your top three video game consoles since the year 2000? and why? This is around the time when PS1 came out and pretty much changed the gaming industry. PCs and computers don't count because they often fall in the category of "how fast is your game?" or "how beautiful do the graphics look based on the time-frame?". You can pick one from any company or any mode, including with the newly released Lenovo Legion Go model, which is quite groundbreaking.

Let's go 8ball

  • Ps2 even though the launch games were a bit meh. It was a really good leap ahead of the original PlayStation. XBOX even though it was seen as the underdog and had to prove itself. It had some really great games and set the stage for the future. Nintendo switch because it has actually stuck around and down so well and for good reason. It has made gaming very accessible and fairly affordable for many.

  • I WOULD SAY THE NINTENDO SWITCH SINCE ITS DURABLE AND HAS BEEN AROUND FOR A LONG TIME.  THE XBOX SINCE IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN FUN TO USE, AND THE LATEST VERSION OF A PLAYSTATION SINCE IT IS ALWAYS SHOWING INNOVATION.

  • The Xbox 360, ps3, and the switch. Maybe the Wii is bigger than the switch, and the ps2 ranks higher than the ps3. The newest systems aren't inspiring the kind of excitement that the last two generations did.

  • Xbox 360, The switch, and The Lenovo Legion Go.

  • PS1, the xbox 360, the wii, because all were game changing and dominated for a time.  If you went back farther it would be atari 2600, and probably sega genesis.

  • Xbox 360 was peak console.
Xbox Series X is currently the best available.

Nintendo Switch gets a lot of style points for the games and utility as a handheld.

  • It actually came out just before 2000, but I’m going to say Sega Dreamcast is one of the top 3. It didn’t sell well, and ended Sega’s run in the console business. But I have such fond memories of that console (Soul Caliber was amazing!) and I think it was both ahead of its time and influential on what came afterward. I’ll also say Nintendo DS—it was truly innovative, and brought a lot of people to gaming even before the Wii. For the last slot, it’s a tough call, but I’ll say PS2–it really set the template for what a powerful console should be.

  • PS2 is definitely one of my top three! <3

  • I have played on Xbox 360 and The Switch, and I would say that as someone who grew up with PlayStation, I had a rather difficult time adjusting to Xbox's controllers but it was fun nonetheless. I do think that despite being relatively smaller for my hands/fingers that The Switch was fun to play with friends. I have not had the chance to play with The Lenovo Legion Go yet.
