What did games teach you?

This one comes straight from our official @LenovoLegion Twitter account.

What did video games teach you?

For me... vocabulary! I remember distinctly learning words like "critical," "magnitude," "obliterate," and "mystic" thanks to Pokemon Gold/Crystal.

What about you?

  • I'd have to give all the credit to Tetris for my ability to fit an entire cart of groceries onto the belt in the check-out.

I'd also like to believe that I'm a good driver because of games but it's entirely possible I'm actually a terrible driver and just don't know it.

  • It was a great way for me to develop my critical thinking skills. When i play games i try to be as an efficient player as possible, and discovering how to increase my efficiency in my early gaming days helped me to learn to think critically and balance multiple variables. From selecting the best build/class for Diablo to learning all the trick and places to level in Final Fantasy. Games have their drawbacks for sure but to discount the gains would not be fair.

  • Gaming has helped me with my typing ability and reaction speed. WPM off the charts!

  • Gaming has helped me think more critically about my decisons I make and It has made me more efficient at looking at details when something is out of place When I play games like, for example, When I play tatical games Like Rainbow Six Siege or  Valorant It has definetly think about the depth of where someone is based on sound. And when I play other games like Call of Duty  or any of the BR games, It has made me look at the details of when something seems to be out of place!

  • If you ever spent time in a computer lab in school in the 90s and played the game math munchers....You learn very quickly that video games can be fundamental for gravitating a child's attention and teaching them without them being exhausted of being taught.

Overall though one of the things I've been getting from this year is that gaming can unite us even when we feel the most distant.

I've also been learning that my reflexes are not as fast as they used to be as I'm getting my butt kicked on a lot of these shooters. Maybe I'll just stick to fall guys

  • Dude, that last one hits hard. Like when did I get old?! I swear my reaction time has fallen off a cliff in the last few years lol

  • Practice makes perfect, try out AimLabs

  • I have a feeling that my reaction time was never that great but I was better at positioning and predicting where people would be coming from.

  • The worst part is as I was playing rocket league yesterday with a friend. I think my reaction time is down because I'm just thinking about things more. I'm taking too long to process because I'm trying to process too much.

  • *something about Dark Souls humanity*
