Old School Gamer

Just an old gamer here to rant...

* When did single player games start requiring that you be Online to play them!!!!!

* Can you please just sell me a complete game without all the DLC to finish the game!!!

* KEYBINDS! STOP FOCUSING ON CONSOLE GAMES AND LET ME BIND KEYS THE WAY I WANT!!!! I"M LOOKING AT YOUR AOE4

* GET OFF MY LAWN!!!!

  • I entirely agree - I miss when you were able to buy a game and take it home and just play it. You wouldn't have to connect to the internet to download extra content or patches (because they'd finished the game before they shipped it). Unless it was a multiplayer experience, you wouldn't need to be connected to the internet. It made buying games a more fun experience - to just be able to come home from the store and start playing it immediately. Now it feels like once you buy a game, you have to wait like an hour for things to download/connect before you can start playing.

  • Can we also talk about how "single player" has basically become a tutorial for multiplayer?  I know that it takes resources to develop a quality story, build maps, record dialogue, code AI etc, but if you're not going to bother with that, don't slap together 2 hours of unsatisfying play and say there's "single player".

  • I agree. I miss the days of unlocking outfits surgically in fighting games instead of buying them

  • Once you do find a good single player game it feels so special

  • GOG is probably the haven for you at this point old man (I love it)

  • There's lots of options out there...but I have to agree that it seems like this is the direction the industry continues to trend towards. I do not like it!

  • not only buy and get a massive download that day but seems many games its over a year or more before that its patched enough to be called a complete game

  • This is my main complaint with all these new games! LOL

  • the always online sucks and suddenly everyone wants to be the new steam and make you download their specific game launcher

  • Best thing to do then is Crack PC games, one way to get out of the always online option Sweat smile
