Simple "why": WHY DID SONY STOP BACKWARDS CAPABILTY?
I've no idea, but it would be great to have.
Cost of extra hardware, format compatibility, AND money Money MONEY!
Backwards compatibility is basically running an emulator on console hardware and it has its own problems. Honestly, if Sony/Nintendo put effort into making official PC emulators to play their older console…
I have my original PlayStation collections all the way back to PSX. I don't hat to have 5 consoles sitting on my tv stand. I have an emulator but don't want to connect my PC to the tv every time i want to play. I'm going to buy a an older loaded tower strictly to play classics.
