What are everyone's thoughts on Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart?

I played an absurd amount of the first four Ratchet and Clank games when I was younger, but was never able to play any of the PS3-era R&C games. Going from PS2 to PS5, the change was pretty dramatic. I absolutely adored it, I'm curious what everyone else thinks too! Feel free to discuss any and all of the R&C games as well, my favorite personally is the second one (Going Commando).

  • I haven't tried it yet (no PS5), but this looks like one of the biggest reasons to grab a PS5 right now. What are your thoughts on the graphics?

  • My last console prior to this year was the PS2 Slim but I was fortunate to snag a PS5 right when they dropped. PS5 is FANTASTIC but massive in size! I wish it was black like my Legion gear and that they would find a solution for expanded hard drive space as it gets taken up quick with main stream titles so you are always having to delete something if you play a variety of games.  I have not played the new R&C Rift apart but my brother loved playing the 2016 R&C that is included with PS Plus. Rift is supposed to look even more exceptional on PS 5. Most games have so far even for PS4 versions.
PS Plus on PS5 has been worth every penny so far and keeps getting better! For me I have enjoyed Days Gone on Plus, and got lost in Red Dead Online for months for an initial $5 investment. Cuphead looks wonderful on PS5, Shadow of the Tomb Raider is about to be looking better, and I will likely put it all aside to focus on Ghost of Tsushima Directors Cut Next month.

  • haven't played it yet since my PS5 is still in Back Order but based on reviews and feedback I think I'll play it since I love the franchise.

  • Hey Ben, I totally missed your reply somehow! I'd be lying if I said this game had no involvement in my decision to get the console. As for the graphics, I was totally blown away by them! Going from the PS2 games to that was a bit jarring, but the core gameplay loop felt largely the same which was great. I think the different planets in this one each have their own distinct style, and the colors are gorgeous. I hope you're able to try it soon!

  • Luckily it seems like Sony is working on providing a list of known compatible drives you can install internally in your PS5, maybe that will help! I also just got PS Plus the other day, I'll have to check out Days Gone.

  • Believe me, you won't be disappointed. I ended up beating the game in the span of a few days, and now I'm going back through in challenge mode. Make sure you put the effort in to get all the Gold Bolts, it's well worth it.

  • I haven't played it yet. I'm waiting on a sale. Because the last R & C game on PS4 went free on PSPlus 4 months after I bought it.  But it was awesome and it is part of the PSPlus PS5 collection if you haven't played it yet.

  • I really want to play it but I want to beat spider man miles morales first and horizon zero dawn again before the new horizon come out. One day I will.
