Wow, I got XBOX gamepass this week and wanted to check out new games. I sorted by top rated games and Spelunky 2 was on the list! I saw the trailer and the game honestly looked eh, but cute, so I thought I'd give it a try.
Boyyyyyy oh boy, it is a HIGHLY ADDICTIVE game, but not for the faint of heart. It has an EXTREMELY high learning curve, having to learn the traps and monster mechanics. It will take a while even to beat world 1, which has 4 levels. By the time you get to world 2, you won't last long as you don't know the traps or mechanics of world 2 haha. If you lose all your lives, you restart from world 1, level 1, which makes this game super intense in trying to stay alive and keep your hearts!
If you like rouge style games with random items/power-ups, this game is for you. I find this game somewhat similar to dead cells in a way, but harder to stay alive with less power-ups/items.
Highly recommend if you are looking for a new rogue style game. I finally got to world 2, but trying desperately to learn the map before I die and start over at world 1 haha.
Has anyone else tried Spelunky 2?
