Also new this year are the Lenovo LOQ 15IRX9, Lenovo LOQ 15IAX9I, Lenovo LOQ 15IAX9, and Lenovo LOQ 15AHP9 laptops and Lenovo LOQ Tower 17IRR9 for gamers beginning their journey up the leaderboards. New accessories, such as the Lenovo Legion M410 Wireless RGB Gaming Mouse and Legion K510 Pro Mini Keyboard, along with a new Lenovo AvatarMaster PC software app round out the upgraded ecosystem.

At the core of this new gaming lineup is the family of Lenovo’s proprietary hardware AI chips—called LA AI chips–and the advantages they bring to both Lenovo Legion and Lenovo LOQ gaming laptops. First introduced last CES, this year’s LA AI chips are mightier than ever, enabling Lenovo Legion and Lenovo LOQ laptops to achieve even higher FPS, increased power efficiency, and more. And with a selection of gaming laptops, towers, monitors, accessories and even the handheld Lenovo Legion Go announced last IFA, the new Lenovo gaming ecosystem lets gamers choose the exact setup they need to achieve gaming greatness and reach their ‘impossible’.

Lenovo Gaming: Reach Your Impossible

With this new lineup comes a new call-to-arms for all gamers: Reach Your Impossible. The new Lenovo Legion ecosystem gives gamers the solutions they need to achieve greatness.

‘Reach Your Impossible’ can mean something different to each gamer. Whether it’s topping the leaderboards in professional esports, successfully leading an endgame raid with teammates the world over, or anything in between, Lenovo Legion has the tools that give gamers the edge they need to succeed, both on the digital battlefield and in work or study.

“As the world enters the breach of AI-enabled technology, Lenovo is proud to be at the pinnacle of this charge. With Lenovo Legion’s newest lineup of hardware AI chip-powered laptops, gamers are empowered to reach impossible new heights thanks to fully user-customizable AI-assisted performance increases,” said Jun Ouyang, Lenovo’s Vice President and General Manager of the Consumer Business Segment, Intelligent Devices Group. “In addition to advances in gaming AI, Lenovo Legion’s new Coldfront: Hyper thermal technology—created in collaboration with our friends at Intel—is a disruptive breakthrough that redefines thermal design, increasing heat transfer efficiency while decreasing noise and skin temperatures, forging a path ahead in the future of portable PC gaming power.”

A Gaming Laptop that Redefines Unique: The Lenovo Legion 9i (16”, 9)

The new Lenovo Legion 9i (16”, 9) features the upgraded Lenovo LA3-P AI chip, which delivers Scenario Detection that dynamically adjusts power to the CPU and GPU to increase performance based on what the user is doing at any given moment. This is coupled with Smart FPS, which tracks power usage between hardware components and FPS output while gaming. It scans on-screen FPS data, then takes this data and runs it through an algorithm that optimizes CPU and GPU power that increases FPS in games. The Lenovo LA3-P AI chip also enables Lighting Audio Sync, which syncs the device’s RGB lights with the sound for a more immersive gaming experience. There is also Legion Aurora Sync which uses AI to synchronize what is displayed on screen with the keyboard and environmental RGB, as well as Smart Control that allows gamers to quickly switch between preset power profiles including a user-settable Custom mode. Fan speed controls, thermal mode settings, and other AI capabilities are all controlled through Lenovo Vantage. With this granular level of control over AI-assisted settings, gamers can set up the Lenovo Legion 9i (16”, 9) exactly the way they want, no matter the use case.

The Lenovo Legion 9i (16”, 9) also features up to the newest Intel® CoreTm Gen i9-14900HX CPU, coupled with an up to NVIDIA® GeForce RTXTm 4090 GPU. It can deliver up to 230W TDP, intelligently managed by the newest LA3-P AI chip, has a 3.2K 16:10 165Hz VRR Mini-LED PureSight display, up to 64GB of 5600Mhz DDR5 memory, up to 2TB of Gen 4 PCIe storage1, and is powered by a 99.99Whr battery. The Lenovo Legion 9i (16”, 9)’s TrueStrike keyboard has per-key RGB and 1.5mm travel. The Lenovo Legion 9i (16”, 9) weighs in starting at 2.5kg (5.51 lbs.) and features a forged carbon top cover that is unique to each laptop.

The Lenovo Legion 9i (16”, 9) fits seamlessly into the Lenovo Legion 16” Functional Gaming Backpack GB700 when gamers are out and about. While at home, game gloriously with the Lenovo Legion 9i (16”, 9) paired with the Lenovo Legion Y34wz-30 Gaming Monitor, M600s Qi Wireless Gaming Mouse, and Lenovo Legion H600 Wireless Gaming Headset. All these peripherals are already available in select markets.

The Lenovo Legion 5i (16”, 9) in Lunar Grey

New for this year is the Lenovo Legion “Coldfront: Hyper” thermal solution, available on the Lenovo Legion 7i and Lenovo Legion 5i. This is a completely new thermal solution that has fully reinvented the path that air takes through the chassis when cooling the laptop. Hot air from the chips is forced through a channel-like hyperbaric chamber in the center of the laptop. The bottom D-cover is designed to prevent hot air exhausting out the back vent from mixing with the cold air being pulled in by the dual fans, optimizing heat exchange and keeping the laptops’ hardware cooler and the framerates higher. This results in a max output of 175W in Extreme Mode on the thinner Lenovo Legion 7i, and up to 190W max TDP on the Lenovo Legion 5i, while keeping the keyboard cooler and more comfortable even under heavy processor loads.

Lenovo Legion series laptops also feature PureSight displays, which are per-unit color calibrated. The Lenovo Legion 7i (16”, 9) is available with either a 16-inch 3.2K 16:10 IPS display with 165Hz refresh, 100% DCI-P3 support, and 450 nits brightness for extra fidelity whether gaming, designing, or creating content; or a 16-inch WQXGA 16:10 display with 240Hz refresh and 100% sRGB for users who require faster display refresh rates. This latter panel is also available on the Lenovo Legion 5i and Lenovo Legion Slim 5. eSports Display software allows gamers to turn on Dynamic response time, accelerating the LCD response time, reducing image blur, and enhancing the clarity of outlines. Also included in the software are a selectable-position FPS display and an aim assist reticle for that extra edge in first-person shooter games.

The Lenovo Legion M410 Wireless Gaming Mouse features both a 2.4Ghz wireless connection and wired connection with up to 16000dpi, adjustable 2-zone RGB lighting effects, and a rechargeable battery. The upgraded PureSight displays feature 100% DCI-P3 coverage.

All Lenovo Legion Pro 7i (16”, 9) laptops this year feature Coldfront: Vapor chamber thermals regardless of the configuration, allowing the up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU to max out at a total of 250W TDP in Extreme Mode. The Coldfront thermals in Lenovo Legion Pro 5i (16”, 9) laptops let the up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPUs breathe with a max output of 215W TDP in Extreme Mode. Performance is pushed even further thanks to the combination of Lenovo AI chips on Lenovo Legion Pro 7i laptops and the LA1 chip on Legion Pro 5i laptops. It powers Lenovo AI Engine+, which uses software machine learning, deployed through Lenovo Vantage, to help monitor in-game FPS and dynamically adjust power routing, fan curves, and many other settings to maintain the highest performance output no matter the scenario.

The Legion Pro 5i (16”, 9)

Coupled with the Lenovo Legion K300 Mechanical Keyboard and Lenovo Legion M600e Wireless Gaming Mouse, the Lenovo Legion Pro series and Lenovo Legion Tower 7i deliver the arsenal of tools to clinch the win.

Be ‘You’: The AvatarMaster app

Taking the streaming and collaboration experience to a new level, select Lenovo Legion systems,3 including the Legion 7i (16”, 9) and Legion 5i (16”, 9) are now equipped with AvatarMaster. A new app powered by AI, AvatarMaster transforms users’ profiles into a 3D digital avatar, with complete customization capabilities from appearance and facial features to clothing and accessories. After creating and customizing their avatars, users can animate and stream a digital version of themselves during video conferences, gaming sessions, and across multiple platforms.

Harnessing the power of AI, AvatarMaster tracks both movements and audio, mimicking in real time a raised eyebrow, a nod, and even a blink so that the avatar is as expressive as the user. Even when the camera is off, users can take advantage of the AI-powered audio tracking mode to show facial expressions in the avatar only based on vocal and audio cues, allowing them to be present while remaining private.

Simplicity, customization, and compatibility set the AvatarMaster apart. Fluid avatars and animations are no longer reserved for professional content creators or programmers since AvatarMaster requires no system upgrades or complex tools. Simply launch the user-friendly interface, snap a photo with the webcam, and let the AI analyze and create a realistic version of the user within seconds.

Designed for gamers, but also great for professionals, AvatarMaster is compatible with popular messaging, livestreaming, and chat platforms. Gamers can now show their true imaginative visual selves while gaming or livestreaming and professionals can now interact on a conference call without turning their cameras on. The software also provides a proxy avatar for users concerned about their privacy while still enabling them to be interactive and responsive on camera. AvatarMaster integrates with the extensive ecosystem of avatar experiences from Ready Player Me, a cross-game avatar platform for developers.

The Lenovo LOQ 15IRX9

Step Through the Gateway to Gaming: Lenovo LOQ

The world’s best gamers all started their journey to the top by taking that first step into the gaming world – and with Lenovo LOQ gaming laptops and towers, that first step is made easy. This year’s Lenovo LOQ lineup includes a plethora of CPU and GPU options including Intel and AMD Ryzen CPUs as well as both NVIDIA 20, 30, and 40 Series Laptop GPUs, and even a fully Intel-based option with Intel ArcTm A530M graphics. The new hyperchamber thermal technology also found on Intel-based Lenovo LOQ laptops keeps processors cooler, drawing out up to an additional 15W of power in Extreme Mode while keeping skin temperatures up to 2°C cooler, and lowering fan noise by up to 2dB compared to its last generation.

Even more power is unlocked by the Lenovo LA1 AI chip present on all Lenovo LOQ laptops by powering Lenovo AI Engine+ through Lenovo Vantage to dynamically tune the laptop’s power, fan curves, and other settings on the fly to maximize performance according to the specific task at hand. All this technology allows the 15-inch Lenovo LOQ 15IRX9 to put out a total of 160W max TDP in Extreme Mode, more than enough power to play most games, whether AAA titles or indie releases.

All Lenovo LOQ laptops bring games to life on two display options—either a 165Hz WQHD (1440p) 5ms response time panel, or a 144Hz FHD panel, both of which support 100% sRGB color coverage. Gamers can game in style with an optional 4-zone RGB keyboard with 1.5mm key travel on all Lenovo LOQ laptops as well.

  • Why no mini led for all laptops as an extra option? and it would be nice if it 4k mini led instead of 3k mini led.

I know i9 comes with 3k mini led screen but that's too expansive for me, unless there will be intel i7 option to lower the prices.

  • Wow this lineup is amazing!

  • I'm looking forward to the new Legion 7i model introduced this year. I've tried a few Legion Pro 7i's and Legion Pro 5i's, and returned all due to large amounts of keyboard flex in the WASD area. Hoping the more solid build of the 7i model fixes this.

  • I'm a big proponent of Lenovo products in recent years as we moved away from Dell.  Always been very reliable machines, well priced, Thinkpads have the best keyboards.  I'm actually debating right now about the new Legion 9i laptop with 4090 vs the a desktop with a 4090.  The heat generation has always been an issue that's essentially unavoidable in a small package like a laptop, alleviated by a desktop.  However, the new 9 series seems to have liquid cooling?  Anyone have any thoughts on this?  I would assume given how recently it was release there isn't much data to go on.

  • Awesome lineup!
