There's a very nice free course by Harvard university called CS50. I recommend that to anyone who is interested in computer science.

The current buzz words are Big Data, Data Analytics, Machine Learning etc. And looking at how everything is data driven, I would suggest majoring in data science. You can apply it to any field as data exists everywhere.

Feel free to ask me anything as I did a bachelors in computer science and then a masters in business analytics.

sounds interesting but i heard that you cant get proof you got the cs50 without pay i guess 50$ right?

do you know about software engineering ?

No need for the proof. It's more for the learning than the proof.

What part of software engineering are you looking at? If you've got an inquisitive mind than debugging/testing would be good.

Also, what is your ultimate goal? Do you plan to go for a postgraduate degree immediately after or do you want to work? If work, then how saturated if that field and how easy is it to get in to it after your degree?

i mean if you will go to work and you said in your C.V they will ask for something proof that you study it
    for example certificate

i am curious more than anything XD

dont have goals to be honest

If you're going for a pure computer science job, then they'll do a technical interview and test rather than ask for certificates. In the old days, degrees and certificates would just get your foot in the door. Now, it's more your portfolio. Create projects, on Kaggle or Github, highlight them on your CV, show them your skills.

Honestly, once you start working, I would say almost 50% of the time, you'll be googling, checking stack overflow or using chatgpt to get answers. I am yet to see a degree or course that helps you with what you're going to do in the industry.

For a long time, I used Excel to do almost 60% of my work. It's only when you start using large data that you realize that Excel has limits. And no one taught me Excel at uni or anywhere else. Just learned everything through practice.

Apologies for the delay in responding.
Happy to help but not sure if I'm the right person to be advising about cs or software engineering as I'm in a different field.
