    Hello 👋 Everyone

Yesterday, when Nintendo announced its new Mario games, it announced that the upcoming release will be priced at $80 for the digital version and $90 for the physical version.
This news shocked gamers who were upset about games priced at $70. Now, the surprise is that the price tag is $90.

    it's becoming a race to 100$!!
I'm gonna be honest I think GTA VI would be the only game ever to come close to justifying a price like this. And even that's a hard sell - I'm just saying in terms of content/depth, and assuming past quality, then GTA drives a hard bargain compared to most other games.
If I see GTA and Mario Kart on the shelf, and both are $ 90 - one makes a lot more sense to me and I'd probably consider it. The other would just piss me off and make me wait for a sale.
Still don't agree with it for the record. But I can at least understand the logic of increasing the price with GTA - it's the highest budget game release of all time.as i said it's a race to 100$ .

companies are getting greedy and trying to rise up the prices little by little, and the others tend to follow along to match.

@JokerZida i think that for some games is reasonable to pay that much, you can play them for ages and they put a lot of effort into them. Moreover, we need to consider that everything is getting more expensive, so I am not surprised!

I think that this is a big mistake. The success of the first Switch was based on a relatively low price with slow hardware, but that had a nice catalog of games for decent prices. Now the Switch 2 is much more expensive, and the recycled Mario games get AAA pricing. You are much better off getting a Steam Deck for those prices.

Absolute shambolic pricing. This would've made a teeny bit more sense if the cost of future DLCs/expansions was included in the MSRP, but nope, those will be separate purchases 🤦 The argument for inflation kind of becomes obsolete when you consider the lack of wage increases in recent years and the massive boom of the gaming industry itself.

With tariffs being thrown around like pancakes, I kind of understand the rationale behind price increases for physical games, but jacking up the prices for digital editions is pure greed.
