@LockOut, unfortunately, no, I have not played it yet. The reason is, I do not have a console, and my whole experience as a gamer comes from playing on a PC (and, to be fair, a PC is easier to take with you when you need to travel).

And God of War has many games that are exclusive (as of yet) for various versions of PS. I know the last game was ported for PC, but as I have not played the previous ones, I am not sure if I should try the new one, I like to follow the plotline from the start. Do you think it is fine to play it even if I did not play previous games?

But back to the original topic, how about Prince of Persia?



This is the game that first comes to mind for me when I am thinking about MEA, but I am not sure if it is influential or popular in MEA itself. Is it?

@LockOut, I'll add it to my list of games then. Still, I do get annoyed when developers do not import the whole series. Like what they did with Uncharted, why do they give PC only the last game and not all of them? SEGA does it better, like when they imported the whole of Yakuza for PC (though SEGA too have flaws, but they do seem to have a better system).

Anyway. Maybe Prince of Persia will get a bit more famous in MEA in the near future, the remake of the Sands of Time game is coming. That could stir up some attention for Prince of Persia.

Personally, I liked the "MEA vibe" in PoP more than that in AC. Assassin's Creed is more "international" these days, and more serious. I like how PoP had this feeling of "Arabian Nights" fairytales, like Alladin. Maybe I get nostalgic for it.

But yeah, I can see how Altair would be famous in MEA.

@LockOut to be fair, Disney representation does have flaws, perhaps it was not the best example.

What I meant was, Prince of Persia has a setting that is closer to classic Arabic folklore, like that of "One Thousand and One Nights" with Scheherazade and her stories, you can sort of imagine that the story about sands of time and prince is one of the stories she might have told to her husband. You do not get that feeling with Assassin's Creed (at least, I do not).

You can play the God of War (2018) without playing the 7/8 ones before it, you'll just lose some "notions" about the past story, since it's a reboot in a new mythology (nordic now vs greek before), if you want to play it anyway, I think there's a way to do so with the PS Now on PC (same thing goes for the first Trilogy of Uncharted)
