Ciao a tutti! Con l'avanzare rapido della tecnologia, il mondo dei videogiochi continua a trasformarsi in modi sempre più innovativi. Dall'uso della realtà virtuale e aumentata, all'integrazione dell'intelligenza artificiale e delle tecnologie cloud, sembra che il futuro del gaming abbia infinite possibilità.
Secondo voi, quali saranno le tecnologie e le tendenze che domineranno l'industria nei prossimi anni? Pensate che i giochi basati su cloud diventeranno la norma? La realtà virtuale avrà finalmente la sua svolta? E che ruolo giocheranno l'intelligenza artificiale e il machine learning nel migliorare l'esperienza di gioco?
Personalmente adoro la realtà virtuale e la possibilità di avere NPC con intelligenza artificiale (immaginate quanto i giochi di ruolo possano divenire ancora più infiniti) ma ancora il successo è lontano dall'essere su larga scala, da un lato le tecnologie e le sue applicazioni non sono ancora mature e dall'altro i giocatori non sono ancora pronti ad un modo di giocare così diverso.
Mi piacerebbe sentire le vostre previsioni e opinioni! Quali innovazioni vi entusiasmano di più? Quali potrebbero essere le prossime grandi rivoluzioni nel mondo dei videogiochi?

Secondo me una delle innovazioni più importanti verrà dalla produzione stessa dei giochi.
Esistono vari Engine per creare i videogiochi, e molti dei più comuni sono ampiamente documentati e accessibili ( Unity, Godot, Unreal ). A mio parere l'avvento di IA dedicate alla programmazione ( e soprattutto con fondamentale revisione di programmatori esperti ) permetterà uno sviluppo indie più ampio anche per chi non è esperto ma ha una forte vena creativa.
Vedo invece con enorme diffidenza e, ammetto, un po' di sdegno la possibilità di utilizzare le IA per fini narrativi, specie di NPC. Ricordiamo che l'IA si nutre di sè stessa e di idee già diffuse, e come dissi già altrove che l'NPC mi sappia dire la sua vita, morte e miracoli è infinitamente meno interessante e importante del singolo NPC scritto bene che ha giusto 2-3 interazioni con te, ma rimane memorabile. Ricorderò sicuramente più un Nazheem sbruffone che gira per Whiterun rispetto alla Guarda generica che mi dà indicazioni sulla zona o sui fatti recenti.
Riguardo il Cloud Gaming purtroppo credo che il più grosso limite attuale rimangono, tristemente, le infrastrutture. Sicuramente console come le Series S/X e i PC handheld sono ideali veicoli di tale sistema, ma è anche vero che la totale dipendenza dalle infrastrutture per gli inevitabili input/lag ( specie nei giochi online ) va ancora superata nel mondo. Forse tra una decina d'anni, ma oggi, specie guardando la situazione italiana, non ci spero tantissimo.
Sul VR rimango ancora più scettico che in passato: da possessore del Quest 2 proprio non riesco a rimetterla in mano e anzi, i PC Handheld secondo me stanno proprio dimostrando come le persone danno molta più importanta alla comodità rispetto all'immersione più definita. Sono pure usciti titoli validi nell'ultimo anno, ma sceglierei mille volte di più di rigiocare qualcosa sulla Legion GO seduto a letto piuttosto di preparare gli spazi e indossare un casco che dovrò togliere alla prima notifica sul cellulare.
Ciò che veramente però credo sarà un immenso punto di svolta è lo stesso avvento delle PC Handheld: date le ovvie limitate performance, penso che esperienze più contenute e orientate ad un piu' vasto pubblico porteranno ad una maggiore creatività, soprattutto indie. Presente l'esplosione di fenomeni come Minecraft o di giochi low-poly, oltre che di metroidvania negli ultimi anni? Ecco, ora che economicamente è più facile andare su una Handheld per queste esperienze, e ora che le tecnologie di upscaling stanno migliorando sempre più ( oltre a quelle di FrameGen con le AI ), un abbassamento dei requisiti porterà a puntare più sullo stile che sulla grafica iper-realistica. Ben venga!

L'applicazione dell'IA per la programmazione dei videogiochi darà veramente un enorme aiuto agli studi indie, a volte ci sono sviluppatori che producono giochi da soli e riescono a tirar fuori dei bei giochini nonostante gli enormi sforzi, sarà veramente una bella spinta che aumenterà la concorrenza nella produzione dei videogiochi anche a livelli più bassi.
Ecco i pc handheld sono sicuramente una svolta grandiosa per il gaming, io stesso le apprezzo tantissimo e penso che attualmente sia il progresso più logico al gaming degli ultimi anni.

@GLaDOS paradossalmente vedo una nostalgia tale da parte nei gamers nei confronti di vecchi giochi che credo che il contenuto sia rimasto più importante di tutte le conseguenze che l'evoluzione tecnologica possa portare.
Mi spiego meglio, su certi giochi, ad esempio COD, si è raggiunto un livello grafico e di sound design davvero elevato, tuttavia la community continua a lamentarsi di diverse dinamiche e bug del gioco che potrebbero essere facilmente risolte prendendo decisioni migliori senza la necessità di chissà quali nuovi artifizi tecnici. Tuttavia concordo con Lascax su quanto ha detto del VR ad esempio, sull'IA invece ho una scarsa conoscenza in merito, magari potrebbe stupirci!
@GLaDOS è difficile fare previsioni, perchè ci sono moltissimi fattori in ballo ed ognuno ha la possibilità, piccola o grande che sia, di influenzare gli altri.
Mi sembra un discorso che è già venuto fuori più volte, e spero di non ripetermi: le IA sicuramente la faranno da padrone nei prossimi anni, è innegabile che stiamo vivendo un'importante evoluzione del mondo informatico, direi addirittura "storico", nel bene e nel male.
Presto alcuni lavori dovranno evolversi inevitabilmente, e la capacità di adattarsi ai nuovi sistemi sarà la chiave per la "sopravvivenza". E' brutto da dire, ma è cosi.
Già oggi un abile utilizzatore di IA può facilmente rimpiazzare 3-4 dipendenti a seconda del ruolo che ricoprono. La fortuna nostra (inteso come italia) è che non tutti i titolari di aziende se ne rendono conto.
Per quanto riguarda i giochi...chi può dirlo. NPC più "furbi" mi farebbero piacere ma come dice Lascax rischia di impigrire il "narratore" generando di fatto NPC si molto dinamici, ma estremamente piatti.
E per la tecnologia? Bho, per me è un grosso punto interrogativo. Ritengo che tra i prossimi "salti" con le schede video, pagheremo di più non tanto per le performance, quando per le feature, a tal punto che non so quanto possa convenire una scheda video top di gamma, ad oggi.
Pensateci: già l'abbiamo "presa in quel posto" con il passaggio dalla 3a a 4a gen nvidia ed il frame generation, sfruttabile solo su quest'ultima. Se abbiamo schede video di recente generazione le possiamo usare per upscalare immagini e video, grazie a tool che utilizzano algoritmi di IA....roba che fino a qualche anno fa vedevamo nei telefilm/film più "bizzarri". Eppure oggi è realtà, direttamente da casa nostra mentre stiamo svaccati sul divano.
Quindi a che pro, ad esempio, prendere una 4090 oggi quando una 5060 domani FORSE può fare meglio? Io l'ho visto con il mio Legion 7 e LOQ: 3080 vs 4060, la seconda doppia tutto rispetto alla 3080 grazie a FG. Ed in raster? se la giocano....
Non lo so, temo che ne vedremo delle belle...per quanto riguarda il cloud invece, lo vedo ancora come una possibilità molto lontana, come già stato detto (vedi Stadia com'è finita). Invece le handled, con possibilità di streaming magari da macchina più potente...hanno del potenziale bello grosso secondo me.

Legion Community enables its registered users (the “Users") to post and share content, such as information about Lenovo products, services, events, social media activity and videos ("Content”) to the Platform.
Legion Community is provided by Lenovo through the services of Standing on Giants subject to these Terms (“Terms”). We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time and without notice. If we amend the Terms, we will post the amended Terms on this page and indicate at the top of the page the date the Terms were last revised. Your continued use of the Platform after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
By accessing or using Legion Community you signify that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, then you should not access or use the Platform.
Lenovo’s decision in relation to any aspect of Legion Community and these Terms is final and binding.
Your Use of Legion Community Platform
ELIGIBILITY. This Program is open to Participants who are age 18 years or older at the time of entry. This Program is not open to: (1) employees or internally contracted vendors of [Client] or its parent/subsidiaries, agents or affiliates; (2) the immediate family members or members of the same household of any such employee or vendor; (3) anyone professionally involved in the development or administration of this Program; (4) employees or internally contracted vendors of governments and government-affiliated companies or organizations; or (5) any employee whose employer's guidelines or regulations do not allow entry in the Program. Your use of the information and Content available on the Platform is subject to the following restrictions:
You must not modify or remove any and all copyright, trademark or other proprietary notices contained in the Content.
You must not modify the Content in any way or reproduce or publicly display, perform, or distribute or otherwise use the Content for any commercial purpose.
No title or ownership rights in the Content or any intellectual property rights therein are transferred to you under these Terms. You may never use another user's account without the permission of that user. When creating your account, you must provide accurate and complete information and you must keep your account password secure. Your Content Posted or Linked to Legion Community
Lenovo allows you to submit posts or link content to Legion Community, including photos, images, videos, sounds, comments, links, tweets, likes, and other materials. A Legion Community moderator will moderate all posts after publication. Lenovo reserves the right to remove user’s content that it considers to be irrelevant to the purpose of the platform, or that it considers violates any of these Terms. Lenovo may also post or link to the Platform any of your Content that you make available to Lenovo for the Platform. You are solely responsible for your Content that is posted or linked to the Platform and Lenovo accepts no liability for your Content.
You grant Lenovo and other users of the Platform a non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sub-licensable, worldwide license to use, store, display, reproduce, modify, create derivative works of, perform, publish, re-post, re-tweet, and distribute your Content on or in connection with the Platform.
You represent and warrant that you have all rights necessary in your Content for it to be on or available from the Platform, and that the posting and use of your Content on or through the Platform does not violate, misappropriate or infringe on the rights of any third party, including, without limitation, privacy rights, publicity rights, copyrights, trademark and/or other intellectual property rights. Lenovo does not have any obligation to review your Content, and therefore does not guarantee the accuracy, integrity, or quality of all user Content and we cannot assure you that harmful, inaccurate, deceptive, offensive, threatening, defamatory, unlawful, or otherwise objectionable Content will not appear on the Platform. Representations and Warranties
You represent and warrant that:
(a) You will abide by and comply with these Terms;

Compliance
When using Legion Community, you will comply with all applicable laws and regulations, and all terms of use and similar rules concerning your use of any Social Media Outlet or other third party publishing platform.
Upon our request made to you from time to time, you will cooperate with us and allow us access to your systems, communications, and records solely in connection with determining your compliance with these Terms.
Visiting Third Party Websites
The Platform may contain links to third party websites, advertisers, products, services, offers, or other events or activities that are not owned or controlled by Lenovo. Lenovo does not assume any responsibility for any such third party sites, information, materials, products, services or offers. If you access any third party website, product, service, or content from the Platform, you do so at your own risk and you agree that Lenovo will have no liability arising from your use of or access to any third party website, product, service, or content.
Trademarks and Ownership of Intellectual Property
Lenovo™, the Lenovo logo, and certain other product names and phrases are trademarks or service marks of Lenovo in the U.S. and/or other countries. The absence of a trademark or service mark designation next to a product or service name or logo belonging to Lenovo anywhere on the Platform does not constitute a waiver of Lenovo’s trademark or other intellectual property rights concerning that name or logo used or referenced on the Platform.
The Platform contains content owned or licensed by Lenovo ("Lenovo Content"). Lenovo Content is protected by copyright, trademark, trade secret and other laws, and, as between you and Lenovo, Lenovo owns and retains all copyright, trademark, trade secret, patent and other intellectual property rights in and to Lenovo Content and the Platform (the “Intellectual Property”). Lenovo reserves all rights in the Lenovo Content and Intellectual Property not expressly granted in these Terms. Termination
You may terminate use of the Platform at any time for any reason (in other words, un-register). Lenovo may terminate or suspend your right to use the Platform at any time, with or without cause or notice to you. Lenovo may terminate the Platform at any time without notice. Upon termination, all licenses and other rights granted to you in these Terms will immediately cease. Following termination, Lenovo may retain your Content for a commercially reasonable period of time for backup, archival, or audit purposes. Furthermore, Lenovo and its other users may retain and continue to use, store, display, reproduce, modify, create derivative works of, perform, and distribute any of your Content that other users have stored or shared through the Platform.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Lenovo and its employees, officers, affiliates and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including without limitation, reasonable attorney's fees and costs, arising out of or in any way connected with any of the following: (i) Your Content or your misuse of the Platform; (ii) your breach or alleged breach of these Terms; (iii) your violation of any third party right, including without limitation, any intellectual property right, publicity, confidentiality, property or privacy right; (iv) your violation of any laws, rules, regulations, codes, statutes, ordinances or orders of any governmental authorities, including, without limitation, all regulatory, administrative and legislative authorities; or (v) any misrepresentation made by you. You will cooperate as reasonably requested by Lenovo with respect to any such claim. Lenovo reserves the right to assume control of the defence or settlement of any such claim, and you will not in any event settle any such claim without the prior written consent of Lenovo.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England.
Entire Agreement; Severability
These Terms, together with Lenovo’s Data Privacy Policy and any amendments and any additional agreements you may enter into with Lenovo in connection with the Platform, shall constitute the entire agreement between you and Lenovo concerning the Platform. If any provision of these Terms is deemed invalid, then that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions of these Terms will remain in full force and effect.
Limitations of Liability
Neither Lenovo nor its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, third party content providers, sponsors, or licensors warrant that the Site will be continuous, uninterrupted or error-free. THE PLATFORM, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, ITS CONTENT, IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMISSIBLE BY LAW, LENOVO HEREBY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR ANY WARRANTIES BASED ON A COURSE OF DEALING.
