This little piece of news flew a bit under my radar. In case it did for you too, here it is: SaGa Frontier 2 got a remaster last week:

It is a classic, originally came out on the first PS in the last millennium (1999). Back then, what set it apart was that rather than using a new (at the time) 3D style, developers drew backgrounds by hand. And it seems Nostalgia works, the remaster is Very Positive on Steam.

I thought about you @Telomina when I saw this, maybe you'll enjoy the hand-crafted art? Atelier games are newer, but this is a little piece of history that probably contributed to them. And maybe @GoLLuM13, you are one of the few people I know who may have played the original 😅 I didn't back then, but I may give it a look now instead.

@GoLLuM13 Ah, I see. But you seem to have gotten somewhat better over the years? 😉 At least, you do not mind Genshin Impact.

Speaking of which, have you heard about Wuthering Waves?

Kuro Games is making it as their answer to Genshin Impact, set to be released at the end of the month. So like Overwatch 2 with Marvel Rivals, Genshing Impact may get some competition.

@DoctorEldritch Yes, I'm playing it since last year I guess it was 1.1 or 1.2 version, and Phoebe that we can see here (the blond lady with a hat) is my new main on this game, I'm waiting for the next version 2.3 and Zani 👀

@GoLLuM13 Ah, so you're playing both, even though they are supposedly similar? Which one do you like more?

@DoctorEldritch hard question because similar doesn't necessary mean identical, even if I still have a slight preference for Genshin, I've been playing it for a longer time and invested more in it, I have to admit that WuWa is a very close second, thanks to less rigid gameplay, it's very dynamic, and also the story telling is getting better since the black shore arc in 1.3
All in all, I'm happy we have good competition and I can enjoy both, instead of sticking to 1 community and fighting the other one 😁

@GoLLuM13 That's fair. We can hope for a friendly competition between them, who knows, there may even be some collabs, maybe?

What about the visuals? I can see that they are very comparable, but without first-hand experience, it is hard to grasp the difference. To me, WuWa seems just a bit better, but that's from a brief outside glance.

@DoctorEldritch visualy it's different, Genshin is on a modified version of Unity with a "cartoonish" visual, while WuWa is on Unreal Engine 4 with a more "realistic" visual
