    Hello Legion Gamers!

Last week, we looked at different animated series that are in production or coming up and that are based on games. Of course, animation is probably the easiest way to transfer games onto screen, but if Fallout taught us anything, it's that it is possible to make good live adaptations, too. And as luck would have it, there is a new addition to the list of live game adaptations on the horizon: Universal Pictures will make a live adaptation of RUINER. Here is a trailer for that game:

Wes Ball will direct it, you may know him as the director of the upcoming Legend of Zelda live adaptation, too, so he has experience in this. He will be joined by a screenplay writer Michael Ross and producer David Leitch, so hopefully the bar will be high.

Next in line is Phasmophobia: for those of you who do not know, Phasmophobia is getting a film adaptation, which aims to be close tothe game, not just another ghost film. @DracoTarot this might be of interest. Blumhouse will be making the adptation, they had some experience with Five Nights at Freddy’s and M3GAN, so hopefully they will do a decent job.

Finally, the next adaptation is just a rumour at this point, so take it with a grtain of salt. FX may be working on a series adaptation of Far Cry. But that announcement was since removed and there are no new official information about that.

And this is it, this is all I got so far.

Not a big fan of a lot of the decisions Ubisoft has made, but nice to see them keep trying with movies and tv. Far Cry could work.

Ruiner seems interesting too, curious about how that'll work out.

@miskkie I think that maybe, after a certain point, I started looking at gaming companies in these situations the same way as I do about individual book authors: I sometimes disagree with their views or personal conduct or opinions, but I can appreciate their works separated from that. Though this approach may be too simplistic. I try not to think too much about it. 😅

Far Cry could work indeed, but I'd say that it depends very much on whether they manage to find a right person to play Vaas. Like how Heath Ledger was for Joker, it needs to be a good fit for the iconic role. They may call Michael Mando (he portrayed Vaas in games) to give it a try, though, it could be good.

And Ruiner seems a bit of a black horse, yeah...
