@DoctorEldritch do tag me if you share any baking! I can't bake too much, or I could bake healthily (but honestly where is the fun in that), so only thing I baked since my last rounds of scones last month were these banana muffins since I cant eat brown spotted bananas raw anymore.

I was specifically looking for things that would allow me to bake in my pressure cooker, I wanted to try baking with pressure. Now I have a baking form for it:

I needed something round and small enough to fit into the cooker; all the other trays I had were not round and too big. So now I have this option, next is I need to choose a recipe I want to try first. Inspired by you, I may try something with bananas 😊 🍌

@Telomina Those demos just keep coming, is it because of Most Wanted yesterday, I wonder 🤔

Whatever the reason, DarkSwitch announced a release date for Spring, and a demo, too:

A vertical city-builder. Reminded me of Sylvan Castle from HoMM V a bit. Though it seems to have more in common with Frostpunk than HoMM...

@DoctorEldritch oh yes! That game looks extremely interesting. But I worry I would be so bad at it that it wouldn't be fun after a short while.

Oh, that reminds me. I need to buy another one of those baking forms. I normally would make swedish kladdkaka in them but my last one got a bit too worn and the batter ran out of it eventually 😂
I haven't really tried baking in a pressure cooker. I am curiois of what the result will be.

@Telomina Possibly. It could be one of those games that you check out to see the style, and then give back. I do that sometimes. I try not to, always best to support developers, especially indie ones, but sometimes it is clear to me from the start that I do not have what it takes to really enjoy the game. This is how it was with me and They Are Billions 😅

Here is one more demo that I caught in my newsfeed: Nova Roma, another city builder:

2026 seems to be shaping up to be a decent year for city builders. Demo is here if you ever want to give it a try.

I am not sure yet if I'll like this baking form, I value utility above many things like style, and I want to try making eggs sunny side up in them, I know my airfrier should be able to do that in a normal "one piece" form, but I wonder if I will be able to do it in this form, or if my egg will leak through the cracks. Should be dense enough not to, but we'll see.

As for pressure baking, it operates like a steam oven. Supposedly, it would make baked goods pleasingly moist.

oh. Yes. The only problem with city builders is if you find one you like, you tend to play it for years and can't get into other ones 🤭 I might just keep playing Anno 117.

Oh, i see! That does sound delicious! Normally in december i would traditionally have started to bake as well, like saffron buns. But alas, my health is not up for it this year either.

@Telomina That's true 😅 Though I try to work around that issue by only doing campaign stuff. Like with Tropico 6, I did all the game scenarios, but not the sandboxes. After I was done with story-scripted missions, I deleted the game and moved on to something else. Though I wonder if it maybe makes Tropico not the best in sandbox mode, which it is reputedly good at, or makes me not a proper target audience for city builders, which very much may be the case 😅

I usually pickle rather than bake, but I wanted to shake things up a bit this time, and this baking form was on a good offer for BF, so I thought, I might as well give it a go.
