Minecraft developer Notch hints at Minecraft 2 development
• Minecraft creator Markus “Notch” Persson recently hinted on social media that he is developing a spiritual successor to the wildly popular game, which could be “Minecraft 2,” nearly fifteen years after the original was released.
• While expressing uncertainty about the project’s completion and acknowledging the potential risks involved in creating a spiritual successor, Notch stated that he enjoys the development process and is open to the idea if fans are willing to support it financially.
• He stressed that this new project will not infringe on the work of Mojang Studios and Microsoft, who currently own the Minecraft franchise, suggesting that it will be a separate, albeit similar, game.
