Here in this video below by Dave2D on YouTube, we see an advancing new laptop cooling technology. The concept itself by which the device functions is admittedly not new as it has been used for other applications in the past, but for the purpose of cooling technology this would be a first for actually being effective in laptops.
To give some quick summary here, the product in question is the Ventiva cooling system. Much smaller and quieter (as shown in the video being quieter than typical ambient noise). To keep it short in this explanation, to create air flow it ionizes the air by taking away an electron. The ionized air will move to replace that electron rapidly, heading towards the negatively charged section of the system, and be deionized. This process all creating silent fanless air flow. The video also discusses the method they use to make this process safe, as in the past it had some dangerous side effects when used in an air purifier, particularly with ozone.
If this technology really emerges out there, maybe we could see phones and handhelds get much more powerful with this cooling solution installed which I'd like to see. Maybe a larger version of it for desktops? What we do know is one large laptop manufacturer will be using this new cooling technology to be revealed in 2025, it is speculated to be Dell but I certainly would like to see Lenovo try their hand at making a device with this.
So what do you all think? Will this be game changing or just not be effective enough to be adopted long term by other manufacturers?
